La inclusión de grupos tradicionalmente excluidos de la enseñanza superior: pobres, indígenas, discapacitados, negros, entre otros; se ha convertido en un tema de interés y de debate a nivel internacional y nacional. En este sentido, existen algunos vacíos teóricos y prácticos que plantean retos sustantivos a la inclusión, y que, por tanto, constituyen un punto de partida para el avance hacia una verdadera integralidad en la calidad de la enseñanza superior en la región. El objetivo de este artículo es discutir la problemática vigente de la inclusión en la educación superior ecuatoriana, resumiendo sus principales logros y sus mayores retos y aportar recomendaciones para la práctica y la generación de políticas públicas.
Los estilos de vida son conceptualizados como las acciones que caracterizan las actividades diarias de una persona. Juegan un papel fundamental en la prevención o aparición de enfermedades; mantener estilos de vida saludables constituye una prioridad en los adultos mayores. El objetivo de esta investigación fue describir el comportamiento de los estilos de vida en adultos mayores residentes en parroquias rurales del cantón Riobamba, Chimborazo, Ecuador. Para esto se realizó una investigación descriptiva. El universo estuvo constituido por 730 adultos mayores. La muestra quedó conformada por 225 personas. A todos se les aplicó un cuestionario que permitió obtener la información necesaria. Los principales resultados incluyeron un promedio de edad de 67,44 años con predominio de féminas (60,44%). El 76,00% de los ancianos viven solos y el 79,11% presentó diagnóstico de enfermedad crónica. El 94,22% realizan actividades físicas menos de 2 veces por semana y el 92,44% consumía una alimentación inadecuada en el momento de realizar la investigación; el 79,11% acude a controles de salud menos de 2 veces al año. Se concluye que existe un elevado por ciento de adultos mayores con estilos de vida poco saludables caracterizado principalmente por elevada presencia de enfermedades crónicas, alimentación poco saludable y baja práctica de actividades físicas.
Introducción. El mundo está enfrentando una crisis de salud pública, causada por la aparición y propagación del COVID-19, en sus inicios, fue indiscutible el desconocimiento sobre el impacto que presentaría en la salud. Además, se estimó que el COVID-19 presento un incremento de estrés y su influencia en el rendimiento del personal de la población expuesta, de acuerdo con la capacidad y grado de vulnerabilidad que presentó cada profesional al desempeñar sus funciones. Objetivo. Determinar la influencia del estrés en el rendimiento laboral durante el COVID-19 en el personal de salud del Centro de Salud tipo B de Patután, Latacunga. Metodología. De tipo descriptivo con enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo; documental bibliográfico. Con técnicas de recolección conformado por cuestionario de variables sociodemográficas y laborales AD-HOC, y test para identificar aspectos laborales (MBI-HSS) y depresión ansiedad estrés (DASS-21), con una población conformada por 45 profesionales del Centro de Salud tipo B de Patután. Resultados. En cuanto a la percepción del personal de salud en el factor estrés contempla el 77,3% como leve, mientras que el 13,6% señala como moderada. El factor Ansiedad leve presentando 50% de la varianza, como puede observarse el 27,7% indica ansiedad moderada. Considerando que las percepciones de estrés del personal como los trastornos depresivos tienen un impacto negativo, afectando el rendimiento del personal. Conclusión. Se evidencio un 77.3% como estrés leve por lo que se consideró que la salud mental presentó un impacto negativo afectando su desempeño laboral, demostrando así que, a pesar del tiempo, avances tecnológicos, los profesionales sanitarios son vulnerables, de tal manera, pusieron a prueba su rendimiento presentando agotamiento emocional fatiga, ansiedad y depresión.
