This research aims to describe what extent student's mathematical connection ability that reviewed from self confidence and seen from error in completed the mathematical connection test. The subject of this research is students of MTs Fatahillah Cimahi class VIIIB as much 22 students. The method used in this research was descriptive method with qualitative approach. The step of this research that composed from 4 step: namely self confidence questionnaire, mathematical connection ability test, data analysis and draw conclusion. The result showed that 1) Students with high self confidence do errors on identify relation of one procedure to other procedure in same representation and explain mathematics application topic in field of study content or daily problem; 2) Students with medium self confidence do errors in identify relationship of one procedure to other procedure in same representation and do error in identify various relationship of concept representation and mathematics procedure; and 3) Students with low self confidence do error on identify relationship of one procedure to other procedure in same representation. The conclusion of this research is student's mathematical connection ability still less. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sejauh mana kemampuan koneksi matematik siswa yang ditinjau dari self confidence dilihat dari kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal tes kemampuan koneksi matematik. Subjek dari penelitian ini siswa MTs Fatahillah Cimahi kelas VIIIB sebanyak 22 siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualiatif. Adapun tahap penelitian yang dilakukan terdiri dari 4 tahap, antara lain: pengisian angket self confidence, tes kemampuan koneksi matematik, analisis data dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh bahwa : 1) Siswa dengan kepercayaan diri tinggi melakukan kesalahan pada mengidentifikasi hubungan satu prosedur ke prosedur lain dalam representasi yang sama serta dalam menjelaskan penerapan topik matematika dalam konten bidang studi lain atau masalah sehari-hari.; 2) Siswa dengan kepercayaan diri sedang melakukan kesalahan pada mengidentifikasi hubungan satu prosedur ke prosedur lain dalam representasi yang sama dan kesalahan dalam mengidentifikasi hubungan berbagai representasi konsep dan prosedur matematika; dan 3) Siswa dengan kepercayaan diri rendah melakukan kesalahan dalam mengidentifikasi hubungan satu prosedur ke prosedur lain dalam representasi yang sama. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematik siswa ditinjau dari self confidence masih rendah.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal kemampuan koneksi matematis pada materi bangun datar segi empat, subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VIII dari salah satu SMP Negri di Cimahi sebanyak 29 siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, instrumen yang digunakan yaitu sebanyak empat butir soal dengan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal kemampuan koneksi matematis pada materi bangun datar segi empat untuk setiap indikatornya masih tinggi. Pada indikator pertama yaitu mengidentifikasi hubungan berbagai representasi konsep dan prosedur matematika pada soal nomor tiga memperoleh persentase kesalahan sebesar 63%. Untuk indikator kedua yaitu mengidentifikasi hubungan satu prosedur ke prosedur lain dalam represen-tasi yang ekuivalen pada soal nomor satu memperolah persentase kesalahan sebesar 24% dan soal nomor empat memperoleh persentase kesalahan sebesar 40%. Dan indikator ketiga yaitu menjelaskan penerapan topik matematika dalam masalah kehidupan sehari-hari pada soal nomor dua memperoleh persentase kesalahan sebesar 43% Kata kunci: Analisis kesalahan, Kemampuan koneksi matematis, Bangun datar segi empat
This research aims to know the influence of student’s self-confidence against the ability of mathematical creative thinking of students. Methods used correlational with quantitative approach. Samples taken is as much as 30 students are subjected to an SMP in the city of Cimahi. The instruments used in this research consists of a test and non-test. The results of this research are the self-confidence of students have a positive effect on the ability of mathematical creative thinking of the students of 10.9% and 89.1% influenced by factors other than the self-confidence.
For students learning mathematics, mastery of concepts is important, one of which relates one concept to another. One of the abilities that students must have is the ability to connect mathematically, but it turns out that the facts in the field are still relatively low. In order to improve the learning process, a combination of scientific and contextual approaches can be used by developing teaching materials. This study aims to develop teaching materials using a combination of scientific and contextual approaches to improve the mathematical connection skills of junior high school students, the method used is Research and Development (R&D) ADDIE model. The results obtained from the limited and wider trial validity are valid and feasible to be used at the product testing stage, at the limited trial stage the practicality of lesson plans and worksheets by teachers is in the practical category and at the wider trial stage it is in the very practical category, the practicality of Student Worksheets by students at the limited trial stage and more broadly is in the practical category, The effectiveness was in the quite effective category in the limited trial stage, and it was in the effective category in the wider trial stage, then the implementation in the limited trial stage obtained a percentage of 81.2% and in the wider trial stage a percentage of 89.7% was obtained and for increasing mathematical connection ability, the N-Gain was 0.58 which was included in the medium category.
