Intraoperative Ultrasonogram (IOUS) has been an valuable adjunct in deciding whether primary cbd closure is feasible or not. The use of intraoperative ultrasound (IOUS) has become increasingly popular in primary central bile duct (CBD) closure procedures. IOUS offers real-time imaging that allows surgeons to precisely identify the anatomy of the CBD, detect any abnormalities or stones, and confirm the success of the closure procedure. IOUS is particularly useful in cases where there is uncertainty about the location or extent of bile duct injury, or when there is a high risk of bile duct injury during the closure procedure or when there is doubt in retained CBD calculus. This abstract brings out series of patients that we have operated at our institution and followed up for a period of 1year from march 2022 to march 2023
Background : Papillary carcinoma of breast is rare and account for approximately 1-2% of newly diagnosed cases of breast cancers. The common age group of presentation is 6-7th decade. These tumours usually present with a painless retroareolar swelling associated with bloody nipple discharge in 50% cases. Case 1) 57 year old most Cases : menopausal woman presented with huge ulcerative lump in right breast over a period of 1 year. After confirming diagnosis with incisional biopsy, patient was proceeded with Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy (NACT) followed by Right MRM with SSG. Case 2) 66 year old male patient came with complaints of bloody discharge from nipple for past 1 year. A small subcentimetric lump present in retroareolar region on left breast was present, on which USG guided CNB revealed Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Patient was proceeded with Left MRM. Case 3) 65 year old male patient presented with painless lump in left breast for 3 months. Clinical examination revealed a 1*2 cm lump in left breast with a single mobile ipsilateral axillary node. Image guided CNB revealed Invasive Papillary carcinoma. Patient was taken up for upfront Left MRM. All 3 patients are on regular follow-up for more than a year, and no recurrence is noted on followup
Behcets disease is DEFINED as an auto-inflammatory systemic vasculitis of unknown etiology. It is characterized by
mucocutaneous manifestations, including recurrent oral and genital ulcerations, ocular manifestations, especially
chronic relapsing uveitis, and systemic vasculitis involving arteries and veins of all sizes. Behcets disease usually affects
young adults 20 to 40 years of age and is also seen in children less frequently. Both genders are equally affected by the
disease although slight male preponderance is seen in japan[7] .we would like report a rare case series on Behcets aka
silk road disease presenting in a 16 year old female complicated with SMA vascular insufficiency
A pancreaticopleural fistula (PPF) is a rare condition that causes thoracic symptoms such as dyspnea and chest pain secondary to exudative pleural effusions. While PPF is a very rare complication with only 52 cases reported between 1960 and 2007, they typically occur in patients who are male, middle aged, and have a history of chronic alcohol use and chronic pancreatitis (Aswani and Hira, 2015; Francisco et al., n.d.; Valeshabad et al., 2018; Ali et al., 2009). The fistula between the pancreas and pleural cavity causes large, rapidly accumulating, and recur- rent pleural effusions which cause symptoms that can be difficult to differentiate from other acute thoracic pathologies (Francisco et al., n. d.). As a result, it is essential that providers have a high index of suspicion for PPF in these appropriate populations. We present a case study with 2 patients who reported to our institute, to review the typical presentation, pathophysiology, and current approach to treatment of PPF.
