The aim of this study was to compare time management perception of students studying at Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching and program in Primary School Education. Totally, 170 students took part in this research. Data was gathered through Time Management Scale that had been developed by Britton and Tesser (1991) and was translated to Turkish Language by Alay and Koçak (2002). In evaluation part, frequency analysis and parametric tests were used. It was statistically determined that there were significant differences between students studying at department of physical education and sports teaching with program in primary school education. It is considered that the students of Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department have high perception in all three sub-dimensions because of their habit of using the time well in the competition or the habits of time planning such as nutrition and sleeping out of sporting time.
The aim of the study was to investigate smartphone addiction effect on physical activity, recreational sports participation and educational success. In total, 255 students studying at Dumlupinar University and using smartphone (136 male and 119 female) voluntarily participated to the study. Within the scope of this study, Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV) (Noyan, Darcin, Nurmedov, Yilmaz & Dilbaz, 2015) was applied to the participants. To the data gathered from the participants, parametric tests as Independent Sample T-Test and ANOVA were applied (p<0.05). According to the results there is significant difference between smartphone addiction of participants and gender, age and recreational sports (p<0,05); but there is no significant difference between smartphone addiction and academic success and recreational activities practiced (p>0,05). It is considered that participants with higher academic grades may have higher smartphone addiction score because of using smartphones as teaching tool in classrooms. Participants practicing physical and recreational sports have less smartphone addiction score and it can give a clue that smartphones are constraints for physical activities and this may be a reason and taking precaution subject for a sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy individuals.
Aggression and violence have been a customary part of life that mankind has had to live with from the beginning of time; it has been accepted by society even though it expresses endless negativity. Aggression and violence can find a place in sports events and football games because of the social problems of the audience watching the competitions or games, which sometimes fall into the category of hooliganism. Turkey is one of the countries that should consider this problem to be a serious social problem. Even during 2014 and 2015, a relatively short period of time, there were significant hazardous acts committed by hooligans. In February 2014, one supporter was killed after a game between Liverpool and Arsenal in England; in March 2014, a game between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce was left half-finished because of violent acts in the stadium that caused players in the pitch to believe that they could not leave stadium alive, although they finally left after a few hours; in another incident in March 2014, one supporter was killed after a game between Helsingborg and Djugarden in Sweden; in November 2014, one supporter was killed and 14 supporters were injured before the game between Atletico Madrid and Deportivo in Spain. These are all examples of aggression, violence, and hooliganism in football. This paper aims to discuss aggression, violence, and hooliganism in football, especially in recent years, and investigate what can be done to prevent these acts from occurring again in the future by examining them in hindsight.
The aim of this study was to investigate attitudes of university students to play educational games and gamesconsisting of physical activity. Totally, 514 students (187 male, 327 female) were taken part in this research. Datawas gathered through Attitudes to Play Games Consist of Physical Activity Scale (Playfulness Scale) which wasdeveloped by Hazar (2014). The scale has 23 items. In evaluation part for questionnaires answered by participants,Kolmogorov Smirnov normality test, Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis tests were applied. According to theresults, it was statistically determined that there were significant differences between playing games consist ofphysical activity attitudes and gender, practicing any sport licenced and age (p<0,05); but there were not significantdifferences on analyses done for academic success (p>0,05).
