AbstractThe purpose of this study is to perform a meta-analysis of the state of knowledge of ICT-based education in Mexico and Latin America in the last decade. Prior to seeking information, general lines of knowledge application and categories were defined. The results indicate that studies are mostly focused on virtual learning resources and their contribution to education. Similarly, it was found that 80% of studies are qualitative, with quantitative or mixed studies accounting for only a fifth of work on the subject. In Mexico, 46% of research addresses higher education; this figure is 62% in Latin America. Gaps were found in knowledge generation in parents' digital skills, student training in ICT competency, educational outreach with businesses, and disability education.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the achievement of competencies for production, search, diffusion and open educational resources through a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). The development of this project required the participation of 10 institutions of higher education in Mexico*, as well as financial support from the National System of Distance Education (SINED). This is a quantitative research and the participants were 134 teachers in Mexico and other Latin American countries. Rubrics were used to evaluate the competencies mentioned (which conformed the four modules object of study); each was broken down into indicators and self-assessment was used with the student (basic), beginner (intermediate) and expert (advanced) criteria. It was found that in the three levels of competency, the total percentage is very similar in the four modules: Basic level is between 0.5% y 3.9%, intermediate, around 30.0% and 31.5% and advanced around 65.4% and 69.5%.
The aim of study is determining the set of variables which explain a student anxiety towards mathematics, as well as the student attitude towards the use of technology in PLM. To do this, the RMARS and MTAS scales were used. The instruments were applied to 522 undergraduate students at ITSON. The statistical procedure was EFA. The results obtained for the RMARS scale are: Bartlett's Test of Sphericity with KMO (0.689), χ 2 of 603.529 with 3 df and sig. 0.000 p<0.00, MSA Measure of Sampling Adequacy all more than >0.5, with an eigenvalue (2.219) which explains the 73.955 % of the total variance. In the MTAS Scale, Bartlett's Test of Sphericity obtains a KMO value (0.678), χ 2 of 427.405 with 10 df and sig. 0.000 with MSA values more than >0.5 in all cases, indicating that the variables of the MTAS Scale allow for establishing students' attitude towards mathematics and towards learning it using technology. The empirical evidence obtained allows us to believe that the use of technology may be a variable influencing students' attitude towards the process of teaching-learning mathematics measured using ICT, and that anxiety over mathematics may be a factor which determines this attitude.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
