This research is aimed to find out the influence of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning model on students’ critical thinking ability in English Language lesson. This research is conducted in the 4th year (Grade IV) students in the elementary school of SDN Kaduagung Timur 1, Kecamatan (sub district of) Cibadak, Kabupaten (District of) Lebak, Province of Banten. The research uses the Experiment Pacto Experiment design. The study sample consists of 60 students. The results of the research show that: (1) as a whole, students’ critical thinking ability in English language lesson with STAD learning model is highly influenced. (2) There is an influence of interaction between STAD learning model on students’ critical thinking ability in english lesson. From the findings of the study, it is concluded that the STAD model has an influence on students’ critical thinking ability in English language lesson in the 4th year students in SDN Kaduagung Timur 1, Kecamatan Cibadak, Kabupaten Lebak, Province of Banten.
Vocabulary is an important element of any language since its roles affect on language performance of the users. The present study investigates the correlation between students' vocabulary and their speaking skills at the secondgrade students of MTs Mursyidatul Jannah Pandeglang. A descriptive quantitative method was employed in the study. The participants of the study are the second-grade students which consist of thirty students. vocabulary test and speaking test were administered to attain the data of students' vocabulary mastery and their speaking skills. Having collected the data, the writer usedthe Pearson Product Moment Correlation in analyzing the data. Based on the data analysis, the study reveals that there is good correlation between the students' vocabulary mastery and their speaking skills. Further, the result of hypothesis testing shows that there is a positive correlation between the students' vocabulary mastery and students' speaking skills. The means score of the students' vocabulary mastery is 6,5 and theirspeaking skillsis 6,7. The r-value is 0,54 while the r-table is 0,46ata significance level of 1%. From the results decides that r-obtained (0,54) is higher than r-table (0.46). It meant the r-value is significant.
This paper aims to find out the certified and non-certified teachers' beliefs and practices about learner autonomy in the EFL classroom. The findings revealed that there is not a huge differences between the certified and noncertified teachers' beliefs and practices of learner autonomy. It was also found that both the certified and non-certified teachers' understanding about learner autonomy are not salient with the literature.
In the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak that hit Indonesia, MA Persis 69 Matraman Jakarta is one of the schools that organize Teaching and Learning Activities with the Online Learning system. Online learning is considered the best solution in the midst of the epidemic condition that hit the country where this epidemic has become a frightening specter for many people. Online Learning is an alternative in the process of Teaching and Learning Activities. This is purposed to prevent the spread of Covid-19. In its implementation, teachers and students use the Whatsapp application as an online learning media during this pandemic. Whatsapp is one of the easiest and most commonly used applications. The Whatsapp application provides a group feature where all students can be involved in doing learning activities either by chatting, recording, or sending large video files. In this study, the research approach used is a qualitative approach, while the research methodology used is descriptive qualitative. The findings of this research showed that firstly, the learning process through the WA group as a whole can be said to have been in accordance with the learning steps, but in the future it still needs improvement so that learning becomes more optimal. Secondly, Learning Outcomes seen from the aspects initiated by Bloom's Taxonomy namely Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor, the results obtained are not too far away different from face-to-face learning; it's just that for Psychomotor when this online leraning looks far, very bad. Lastly, Supporting and inhibiting factors learning include cheap learning costs and easily accessible learning resources being the main supporting factors, while the equipment is expensive for students who are economically disadvantaged and the poor internet connection in certain areas is an inhibiting factor in this online learning
Abstract: This research was conducted to see how the role of smartphones in learning English for the eighth semester at STKIP Setia Budhi Rangasbitung. Especially trying to find out the role of smartphones through zoom meetings in during the pandemic. The method used in this study was a qualitative method with questionnaire and interview instruments. four students were selected to investigate the role of smartphones through zoom meetings in learning. The Data were gathered through instruments Questionnaire and structured interviews. The result of study showed that the part of smartphones through Zoom gatherings for learning exercises can give more encounters for understudies where understudies can be associated specifically, understudies can be conducted address and reply discourses and introductions almost the learning issues they are confronting, and online learning can run easily and get most extreme.
