The statistics regarding health problem in Malaysia shows more than 50% of Malaysian adults have at least one of Non-Communicable Disease. Thus, effort to create awareness as well as promoting mind-set change with regards to health habit is paramount. Researches prove that ICT played significant role in influencing the way of thinking, behaviour and decision making. Intervention programs through computer application should be used to persuade and support health awareness, treatment and prevention. This paper investigate and review studies using persuasive technology in health intervention program in Malaysia. It presents the main objective, the technology persuasive principles and final findings of each study. In conclusion, the application of persuasive technology brings positive impact to awareness creation, aiding prevention and support to change as well as influencing people for a better healthy living.
This paper reports a research on Hearing Impaired (HI) learners in Malaysia which focuses on beginner level. This research has been carried out with intention to solve problem faced by parents of HI children in teaching their children to know the six basic sounds which is known as Ling-6 Sound. The HI learners were assisted by speciallydeveloped electronic-learning application or known as Assistive Courseware (AC) in their teaching and learning process. The AC utilizes their mother tongue language. The objectives of the study include 1) To identify the characteristic of AC for HI learners, 2) To design the storyboard of AC for HI learners, and 3) To design the interface of AC for HI learners. This study adapts the Iterative Triangulation Methodology, and is integrated with the IntView Methodology. The storyboard of the prototype is outlined next. The findings of this paper highlight the prototype of the AC labelled with certain characteristics that has been identified and the result is based on interview with parents. The final part concludes this paper.
The need for feed determines 60-70% of aquaculture total production cost. Hence, the feed factor plays a very important role in performing an effective, efficient, inclusive, and sustainable aquaculture. The requirements needed to be a good cultivar are fulfilment of macronutrients and micronutrients, toxin-free, and accessible. Maggot can be used as a natural feed alternative in cultivation activities due to its sufficient nutrients content. Since 2012, aquaculture activities in Indonesia have increased alongside the rising needs for food and population growth. In this research, we conducted a research on the cultivation process of maggot by constructing three effective, efficient, and organized prototypes to achieve natural feed alternative for fish. In the first prototype, the hatching container (70x80x50 cm) will be designed with IoT censor for environmental parameter that is accessible in real time via the Blynk IoT platform. The second prototype is the vertical biopond, in which the structure and plastic container will be used to grow maggot. The structure of vertical biopond will be that of two-rack wood shelf with size specification of 80x100x34 cm. An important note to take, all designs will be created vertically. The third prototype is a 3 in 1 stall that has three components which are green net (200x150x100 cm), pupation container (30x42x15 cm), and hatching container (20x23x10 cm). All three designs can optimize the provision of economical and ecological feed that supports the fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goals in Indonesia. Keywords: Aquaculture, Black soldier fly, Internet, Natural feed, and SDGsÂ
COVID-19 pandemic has created a new norm for SMEs business operations in the fashion industry, despite the disruptions to the world economy and mankind. In view of these changes, it is imperative for SMEs to prioritise their marketing management capabilities in order to improve their business performance. This study upholds the theoretical lens of resource-based view theory. This study examines the relationship between marketing management capabilities and SMEs business performance using SPSS statistical package consuming minimum data of selected 283 SMEs that are involved in the fashion industry from three (3) states in East Coast Malaysia. The results of this study provide important information for SMEs to make better informed decisions in developing the right combination of marketing planning and marketing implementation capabilities to improve their business performance. Further research should also seek to synthesise findings of the above major theoretical frameworks in the context of marketing management capabilities dimensions and business performance of SMEs. The originality of this study lies in learning the geographical impacts of SMEs in the new norm of COVID-19 and challenging the applicability of the resource-based view arguments in this specific context.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
