The 21st-century learning paradigm requires teachers to provide teaching materials that can develop students' thinking skills. This research aims to determine the effect of the web module science integrated local batik potential toward the thinking ability of seventh-grade students of junior high school. The research method used was quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only design. The instrument used is about thinking skill. The data analysis technique is a Kruskal Wallis test and Effect Size. The results of the research showed that there were differences in students' thinking skill between the experimental class and the control class, as indicated by the Kruskal Wallis test, gives significant results. Web science module integrated with local batik potential has a significant influence on students' thinking skill as indicated by Cohen's effect size score of 0.8. The results of this research can be used to provide insights to science teachers create innovative learning materials to make students more interested in learning science and practicing thinking skills of students.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the Google Meet media-assisted lecture method on building student knowledge and learning outcomes while learning from home (SFH). A quasi-experimental in the form of pretest-posttest control group design was used in this study. The sample was 96 first-year students (70 girls and 26 men; aged between 18-20) in the elementary school teacher education study program at the University of Trunojoyo Madura in the academic year 2019/2020. Researchers involved three intact classes; 1 class randomly selected as an experimental group and 2 classes as a control group. Knowledge Building Test (TMP) and Cognitive Learning Outcomes Test (THB) are administered as a pretest and posttest. The results of the two-way MANOVA revealed that students taught using the Google Meet media-assisted lecture method have posttest scores building knowledge and learning outcomes higher than comparison groups. Therefore, it can be concluded that the method of lectures assisted by Google Meet media has a significant influence on building knowledge and student learning outcomes in lecturing learning strategies in elementary schools.
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan, kelayakan dan efektifitas SSP kimia berbasis pendidikan berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan literasi kimia dan kesadaran terhadap lingkungan peserta didik SMA. Model pengembangan diadaptasi dari model Dick & Carey dengan subjek coba produk pada peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi lembar validasi, tes literasi kimia berformat benar-salah beralasan, lembar penilaian diri dan lembar penilaian antar teman terkait kesadaran terhadap lingkungan. SSP kimia divalidasi secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) SSP kimia berbasis pendidikan berkelanjutan yang dikembangkan memiliki karakteristik yang meliputi pengembangan melalui model experiential learning pada materi hidrokarbon dan indikator literasi kimia maupun kesadaran terhadap lingkungan diadaptasi dari framework PISA 2015; serta (2) SSP kimia yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dengan kategori sangat baik serta efektif untuk meningkatkan literasi kimia dan kesadaran terhadap lingkungan peserta didik SMA berdasarkan uji Kruskal-Wallis. Problem Based Learning (PBL) and guided inquiry learning model develops intellectual ability as part of mental process. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of scientific communication ability between students who learn to use PBL model and guided inquiry, and to know whether there is influence the use of technology through PBL model and guided inquiry model to student scientific communication. The experimental research was conducted in 2 schools (SMP & MTs) Grobogan District. Examples consisted of 10 classes with 6 PBL model learning models, 4 guided inquiry model and 1 control class. The sample size is 352 students. Instruments using student worksheets and student research reports. The analysis used a one way variance with a significance level of 5% supported by students' skill and classical completeness. The results show the PBL model by giving the video at the beginning of learning gives the biggest influence with the average 83.615. The conclusion of this research is the better model of PBL in terms of individual capability, guided inquiry model better in terms of classical mastery. Isolation and structure elucidation of two resveratrols dimer, namely balanocarpol (1) and heimiol A (2) from stem bark of Hopea mengarawan had been done. The isolation of those compounds was carried out by chromatographic method and structure elucidation was performed by interpretation of spectroscopic data, including UV, IR, 1H and 13C NMR 1D and 2D, and FABMS. Soft skills are the essential attribute which has significant impacts on students’ achievement. This research aimed to investigate science teachers’ perception related to the importance of soft skills for the student, the components of soft skill needed in science learning, the appropriateness method in integrated soft skills in science learning and the challenges of soft skills improvement in science learning. By the purposive sampling, 100 science teachers from junior high schools were investigated. Survey method was used to collect the data and the analysis was conducted using descriptive-statistical analysis. The result showed 34% science teachers’ believe soft skills are critical factors for productive performance. Twelve components of soft skills which were needed in science learning are critical thinking, teamwork, creative and innovative, communication, problem solving, curiosity, rigorous, integrity, analysis, research and inquiry, information literacy, and objective. Data express the percentage difference in each component of soft skills. The finding revealed embedded and integrated are the significant methods in enhancing students’ soft skills. Lack of teachers’ understanding and learning resources and school principals’ support become the challenges in developing students’ soft skills. The study recommends developing an appropriating model or strategy in promoting soft skills.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik, kelayakan, dan efektivitas penggunaan instrumen penilaian portofolio berbasis multiple intelligence untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sikap ilmiah siswa SMA/MA. Prosedur pengembangan menggunakan model 4-D yang dikemukakan oleh Thiagarajan, yaitu define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Hasil penelitian: (1) karakteristik instrumen memiliki tingkat kesukaran pada kisaran -2,00 sampai +1,41 dengan reliabilitas pada kisaran 0,00 sampai 0,97; (2) instrumen dikatakan layak ditinjau dari validitas isi, empiris, dan reliabilitas; (3) hasil pengukuran kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMAN 4 Yogyakarta berada pada kategori sedang dan tinggi dengan kisaran sebesar 34,7% - 65,3% dan 72,2% - 78,8%, dapat dikatakatan instrumen efektif untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa; (4) hasil pengukuran sikap ilmiah siswa berada pada kategori sedang dan tinggi dengan kisaran sebesar 36% - 66% dan 71% - 94%, dapat dikatakan instrumen efektif untuk mengukur sikap ilmiah siswa. Developing portfolio assessment based on multiple intelligence instrument for measuring critical thinking skills and scientific attitudes AbstractThis development research aims to find out characteristics, feasibility, and effevtiveness of portfolio assessment based on multiple intelligence instrument for measuring critical thinking skills and scientific attitudes. This developmental study refers to the model suggested by Thiagarajan which is define, design, develop, and disseminate. The results show that: (1) the characteristics of instrumen have good difficulty level -2,00 untill +1,41 and reliability 0,00 untill 0,97; (2) instrumen is feasible in terms of the contents and empirical validity, and reliabily; (3) the measurement of students’s critical thinking skills are in the medium and high category 34,7% - 65,3% and 72,2% - 78,8%, so that an effective instrument used to measure students’s critical thinking skills; (4) the measurement of students’s scientific attitudes are in the medium and high category 36% - 65,3% and 71% - 94%, so that an effective instrument used to measure students’s scientific attitudes.
