<p><span lang="EN-US">Online teaching has been pushed further as the best solution that addresses the challenges of colleges and universities closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study intended to disclose students’ perceptions of the online teaching. A quantitative survey approach was employed to collect data from a total of 175 students which were conveniently established from amongst students enrolled in academic year 2020/2021 at the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Department of Musamus University, Indonesia. Applying the SPSS software version 16 as the tool, obtained data were quantitatively analyzed using descriptive analysis of frequencies and percentages. The results showed the majority of respondent were disagreeing with the facts that they have an access to personal devices and that they can easily access to both internet and online classes. The majority of respondent were agreeing with the facts that teaching materials were well-planned and that various learning strategies were used to help students understand. The majority of respondent were agreeing with the facts that students were given opportunity to raise and answer the questions and that feedback given on students’ work are very helpful. Lecturers need to reach out and check students’ conditions before starting online teaching.</span></p>
The purpose of this community service is to improve basic computer skills based on the Microsoft Office application for students of SMK Negeri 3 Merauke. This community service method used training with material presentation techniques and questions and answers. The training participants were 34 students of class X Multimedia Department. There were 2 (two) activities carried out, namely: the preparation of a Microsoft office training manual and a questionnaire response to training participants as well as the implementation of basic computer training activities online. The instruments used are response questionnaires and activity documentation. The results of this community service activity indicate that overall each indicator of the response of basic computer training participants is in the 'good' and 'very good' categories. The average percentage of responses is 98.23 which is included in the 'very good' category.
Listening and speaking are important for everyone, including junior high school students. This encourages researchers to prove that there is a correlation between creative listening and storytelling skill in grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Mattiro Bulu. The sample in this study used a random sampling technique. The sample used in this research is class VII.1 SMP Negeri 2 Mattiro Bulu as many as 24 people. This research uses a quantitative approach with associative research type. This research used descriptive test instruments and oral tests. The test results were analyzed using the student skill category table. Hypothesis testing uses the Product Moment correlation statistical test. Based on the results of data analysis, creative listening skills are categorized as good with an average value of 72.29 and the skill to tell stories is categorized as good with an average value of 74.17. From the results of the correlation analysis between creative listening skills and storytelling skill, the r count correlation value is 0.965 which is in the very strong category with r table of 0.404. Thus, r coun t> r table, it is stated that the truth is accepted in the sense that there is a correlation between creative listening skill and speaking skill in grade VII.1 students of SMP Negeri 2 Mattiro Bulu.
Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bercerita singkat dengan menggunakan media audio visual untuk siswa kelas VIII SMP YPPGI Geradus Adii Merauke. Oleh karena permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra yakni perlu meningkatkan keterampilan bercerita singkat menggunakan media. Informasi tentang kondisi mitra menunjukkan adanya permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra. Media diharapkan mampu menjadi solusi terhadap kemampuan bercerita siswa. Metode pengabdian ini menggunakan pelatihan, penerapan, dan pendampingan. Peserta pelatihan adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP YPPGI Geradus Adii Merauke dengan jumlah 12 orang. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian berupa observasi kelas selama penerapan berlangsung, kemampuan siswa meningkat dalam bercerita singkat. Indikator dari peningkatan kemampuan ini adalah mayoritas siswa tidak lagi melakukan kesalahan dalam bercerita singkat.
