Scientific learning is difficult to be applied in an ideal way because of the lack of learning time. One of the solutions to overcome it is by using blended learning that integrated into problem-based learning. This study aims to comprehend the effectivity of problem-based online learning (PBOL) to improve learning outcomes, and it’s efficiency to reduce the time of face to face learning. The used media was WhatsApp because of its simplicity, and the students have been familiar with it. The seventy students of the 10th grade of SMAN 1 Kelua were being sampled in this study based on a saturation sampling technique and divided into three classes. This was a quasi-experimental study with single factor multiple-treatment design. The premier data of this study were learning outcomes and the total time of learning in the class. The data of learning outcomes were obtained by test and be analyzed by one-way ANOVA to detect the effect of PBOL on the learning outcomes. The data of learning time were gained by observation and documentation and be analyzed in a descriptive way to know the efficiency of PBOL. The analyzed result showed sig. value is 0.04, that is means PBOL, and PBL produces learning outcomes which have significantly different from conventional learning. On the other side, even the learning outcomes of PBOL is equal as learning outcomes of PBL, and it’s learning time is fewer than the PBL’s. From both of the facts, we can conclude that the PBOL assisted by WhatsApp is effective in enhancing learning outcomes and more efficient to be used.
The experiment activities of fundamental physics in the laboratory become challenging during Covid 19 Pandemic. The experiment should be carried out remotely, and there is a need to develop an electronic practicum module containing an interactive tutorial video. The research aims to create an electronic module of Fundamental Physics I Experiment with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Approach. The used development model was 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The collected data instruments are expert validation questionnaire, practicality questionnaire, and independence questionnaire to determine the product effectivity. Ideal Standard Deviation analysed data to comprehend its category. The interpreted result showed the product feasible, practices, and effective to use in the learning process. The average feasibility score is 71, and the practicality aspect has a score of 38. Both of them have excellent criteria. Besides that, the developed product also improves students’ autonomy in experimental activities.
The purpose of this community service is to improve basic computer skills based on the Microsoft Office application for students of SMK Negeri 3 Merauke. This community service method used training with material presentation techniques and questions and answers. The training participants were 34 students of class X Multimedia Department. There were 2 (two) activities carried out, namely: the preparation of a Microsoft office training manual and a questionnaire response to training participants as well as the implementation of basic computer training activities online. The instruments used are response questionnaires and activity documentation. The results of this community service activity indicate that overall each indicator of the response of basic computer training participants is in the 'good' and 'very good' categories. The average percentage of responses is 98.23 which is included in the 'very good' category.
This study aimed to determine the use of Tifa music instruments in sound concepts as a contextual science learning media. The focus of this research is the use of Tifa music instruments which are often used in traditional ceremonies by the Malind tribe in Sota District, Merauke Regency. The research method was descriptive qualitative, where the data collection techniques applied are observation, literature study and in-depth interviews. There were three respondents that researchers interviewed. They were the indigenous societies of Malind tribe. Research data are then represented and interpreted into sound concepts. This research concluded that there are sound concepts in Tifa musical instruments that can be implemented in science learning.
The aims of this community service is to improve teachers’ professional competence through training for writing scientific article and classroom action research. The method used was training method with online and offline form. This training was done on September until November 2021. The target was the teachers of Senior High School 2 Merauke province Papua. There were some steps of this community service namely observation, giving material, and monitoring to know the progress of the program. After that training was done, the participants were give the questionnaires that consisted of ten statements. Based on the result of questionnaires, the teachers of Senior High School 2 Merauke gave positive responses namely the responses on very good, good, and neutral category. The result showed that the training can help the teachers in doing classroom action research and scientific research, improving the motivation in writing, helping the job, and improving the professional competency of the teacher.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
