O objetivo do presente estudo foi descrever e discutir, a partir da vivência de professores, o processo de inclusão de crianças com deficiência auditiva em escola regular. Foram selecionadas três crianças entre 05 e 08 anos de idade, e seus respectivos professores. Por meio de entrevistas com as professoras das crianças, foi selecionado o material que permitiu caracterizar o processo de inclusão de cada criança do estudo. Os relatos das professoras sobre suas experiências com as crianças deficientes auditivas deste estudo parecem indicar que, ainda hoje, apesar da evolução das práticas inclusivas, prevalecem nas escolas muito mais os pressupostos da integração do que da inclusão. As professoras foram unânimes em admitir que não vêm sendo suficientemente preparadas para receber deficientes auditivos e pouco sabem sobre o desenvolvimento da audição, da linguagem e sobre como esses aspectos influenciam e determinam formas particulares de apreensão de conteúdos. Prevalece a idéia de que é a criança com necessidades educacionais especiais quem deve se adaptar ao ambiente, empenhar-se para ser nele integrada; ou então, as professoras buscam estratégias individuais de aproximação, sem que essa questão seja problematizada junto ao corpo técnico da escola, que ainda não vem efetivando transformações em sua organização para receber esses alunos.
<p><strong>Introdução: </strong>a identificação precoce de dificuldades escolares em crianças nascidas pequenas para a idade gestacional (PIG) é importante para prevenir ou minimizar comprometimentos no desenvolvimento cognitivo e psicossocial. <strong>Objetivo:</strong> Identificar e caracterizar a presença de dificuldade escolar em grupo de crianças PIG e compará-las com crianças nascidas adequadas para a idade gestacional (AIG). <strong>Metodologia</strong>: trata-se de um estudo retrospectivo, descritivo, transversal, realizado com dados secundários. A população participante deste estudo constituiu-se de mães de crianças PIG (grupo-pesquisa) e AIG (grupo-controle), previamente estudadas por meio de coorte nos primeiros anos de vida, nascidas na rede pública de Salvador. Os dados das crianças e das respectivas mães sobre a situação demográfica, socioeconômica e de desenvolvimento foram coletados por meio de entrevista durante a consulta e a partir de revisão dos registros nos prontuários médicos. <strong>Resultados</strong>: a amostra estudada apresentou taxas consideráveis de crianças apresentando dificuldades escolares (pouco mais de 30%) em ambos os grupos. Quanto aos tipos de dificuldades relatadas pelas mães, a principal foi a timidez em ambos os grupos, além de dispersão e hiperatividade no grupo-pesquisa. <strong>Conclusão: </strong>ressalta-se a necessidade de novos estudos com um número maior de indivíduos e de dar continuidade ao acompanhamento a essas crianças, a fim de identificar problemas relacionados ao processo de desenvolvimento e escolarização.</p>
A atenção à saúde oral engloba o desenvolvimento dentário, o sistema estomatognático e o crescimento craniofacial na primeira infância a fim de reduzir significativamente medidas curativas. Mas, e quanto aos indivíduos com microcefalia? O presente estudo explora o diagnóstico morfológico da face destas crianças. A população do estudo correspondeu a 7 crianças brasileiras com microcefalia, sem síndromes associadas e dentadura decídua completa. A coleta de dados consistiu na análise das características faciais obtidas de fichas clínicas e fotos de frente e perfil da face em repouso. Na análise em norma frontal, foi observada a predominância do tipo dolicofacial (100%). Na análise em norma lateral verificou-se o predomínio de crianças Padrão II (85,71%) em relação ao Padrão I (14,29%). Foi avaliado também que a proporção de Microcefalia grave (-3 DP) foi maior no sexo masculino (p= 0,04). Não se observou associação entre a gravidade da microcefalia e o tipo facial (p> 0,05), embora o padrão Tipo II tenha sido mais predominante na microcefalia grave (100% dos casos). É fundamental o alerta para o acompanhamento longitudinal do vetor de crescimento mandibular destes indivíduos, significativo para diagnóstico e prognóstico do tratamento ortopédico enquanto há crescimento craniofacial.
Introdução: a esquizofrenia apresenta um conjunto de sintomas cognitivos, psicóticos, afetivos e emocionais que influenciam a linguagem e o processo comunicativo. Objetivo: refletir sobre o impacto das manifestações linguístico-discursivas da esquizofrenia na comunicação, a partir da perspectiva de sujeitos com esse transtorno mental, além de descrever as principais manifestações linguísticas presentes no discurso desses indivíduos. Método: estudo transversal, descritivo e qualitativo, com modelo de amostragem não probabilística por conveniência, realizado em um Centro de Atendimento Psicossocial. Realizou-se análise de prontuários e entrevista semiestruturada com usuários do serviço de saúde diagnosticados com esquizofrenia. Os resultados foram submetidos à análise estatística descritiva, sendo que as entrevistas foram exploradas de forma qualitativa por meio da “Análise Temática do Conteúdo”, após transcrição das falas na íntegra. Resultados: metade dos participantes relatou satisfação e conforto comunicativo, enquanto a outra metade informou dificuldade de comunicação associada a sentimentos de frustração, má disposição, nervosismo e receio de falar em público. Tais sentimentos parecem estar relacionados à postura de desvalorização e estigma do interlocutor perante o discurso de pessoas com esquizofrenia. Observaram-se as seguintes manifestações linguístico-discursivas: descarrilamento e alogia. Não é possível afirmar que uma das manifestações linguístico-discursivas observadas nos participantes, a alogia, esteja associada, exclusivamente, à sintomatologia do transtorno mental, visto que a condição de segregação e estigma social pode ser um fator determinante na redução da produção do discurso. Conclusão: os sintomas de linguagem característicos da esquizofrenia impactam as relações de comunicação dos sujeitos diagnosticados com esse transtorno mental.
