This study aims to: (1) examine the contribution of student activity and learning facilities to mathematical learning outcomes indirectly through learning independence, (2) examine the contribution of student activity and learning facilities to learning independence, (3) test the contribution of student learning independence to results learn math. This type of research is quantitative with the research subjects being all VII grade students of the Muhammadiyah Middle School Surakarta Special Program in 2018/2019. Data collection is done by questionnaire and documentation. The data analysis technique used is path analysis which has previously been carried out in five tests of data analysis prerequisites, namely: normality test with liliefors, linearity test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test and autocorrelation test. The results of the study with a significance level of 0.05, namely: (1) there is a contribution of student activity and learning facilities to learning outcomes indirectly through learning independence by 23.9%, (2) there is a contribution of student activity and learning facilities to learning independence by 64%, (3) there is a contribution of learning independence to mathematics learning outcomes of 15.68%.
Rendahnya capaian literasi matematika di Indonesia khususnya materi aljabar yang diujikan pada PISA memuat didalam konten Change and Relationship menjadi perhatian khusus di bidang pendidikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menyelami dan membedah kemampuan literasi matematik dalam menyelesaikan soal berbasis PISA pada konten Change and Relationship dilihat dari sudut gaya kognitif. Ditinjau dari gaya kognitif, menunjukkan bahwa gaya Field Independent dan Field Dependent sangat efisien untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi matematika. Metodologi dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini siswa kelas 8 SMPN 4 Jatiyoso semester gasal tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Instrumen yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini ialah uji Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT), uji kemampuan literasi matematika, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya kognitif Field Independent/ memenuhi kemampuan literasi matematika pada aspek communication, reasoning, and argument, devising strategie for solving problems, using symbolic, formal, and techincal language, and operation, representation. This study aims to develop a learning model based on the theory of realistic mathematics education and child-friendly learning for teaching mathematics in junior high school. This research is conducted using Plomp’s educational design research that consists of four development phases: 1) preliminary investigation, 2) designing, 3) realization, and 4) revision, evaluation. In addition, this study also tests the mathematics instructional model prototype being developed and validated by an expert. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) the teacher’s learning management in the implementation of realistic and child-friendly learning model can be classified “very good”, 2) the prototype model is categorized “very good” in improving students’ activities , and 3) the students’ responses toward the developed mathematics instructional model are "positive”. Moreover, the syntaxes of realistic and child-friendly learning model for teaching mathematics in junior high school have been formulated, namely: 1) explaining learning objectives and motivating students, 2) providing contextual problems students familiar with, or horizontal mathematization, 3) processing abstraction or vertical mathematization, 4) devising strategies, 5) communicating solution in a discussion, and 6) giving inferences of mathematics subject-matter.
Students consider that mathematics learning delivered by the teacher to be very boring, teacher-centered learning and most students said that mathematics difficult to understand. For this reason, this study aims to analyze the implementation of the discovery model based on NHT in mathematics learning in terms of students’ cognitive styles. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental research design. The population in this study were all 7th grade students of SMP Karangmalang Sragen. The sampling technique in this study was using cluster random sampling technique. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used two-way analysis of variance. The results showed that there were differences in the achievement of mathematics learning outcomes in terms of the use of learning models and students’ cognitive styles.
<span lang="EN-US">This study aim to determine the relationship between the influence of learning media, learning motivation, and mathematics communication on student learning outcomes. Learning outcomes play an important role in shaping the quality of education today. Qualitative-correlation research was conducted on 215 randomly student populations. The number of samples was determined using Slavin's theory. Junior High School 2 Banyodono was chosen as the research location referring to the results of observations which showed the low scores of the students' final exams. The results showed that the variables had an influence on student learning outcomes of 12.7%, while the remaining 87.3 were influenced by other factors. Learning media, learning motivation, and mathematical communication provide unexpected data, which contributes to student learning outcomes and deserves to be investigated further in this article.</span>
Penelitian ini membahas representasi zainichi Korea dalam novel Pachinko karya Min Jin Lee. Terdapat beberapa kategori dari zainichi Korea dalam masyarakat Jepang, yaitu pluralis, nasionalis, individualis, dan asimilasionis. Generasi pertama dalam novel ini mendapatkan perlakuan tidak setara akibat etnis mereka yang menyebabkan mereka harus hidup di kawasan kumuh. Generasi kedua direpresentasikan oleh dua tokoh yang saling berkebalikan. Tokoh Noa memiliki keinginan untuk menjadi seorang “Jepang” yang pada akhirnya memilih jalan naturalisasi. Melalui jalan naturalisasi tokoh ini dapat dianggap sebagai seorang asimilasionis yang meninggalkan identitas etnisnya dan hidup sebagai seorang warga Jepang untuk mendapatkan status sosial yang setara. Tokoh Mozasu memiliki kecenderungan berkebalikan dengan Noa karena ia tidak memilih jalan naturalisasi dan tetap mempertahankan identitas aslinya sebagai orang Korea. Generasi ketiga masih mendapat ketidakpastian identitas meskipun mereka lahir dan besar di Jepang. Dengan pendidikan yang Solomon dapatkan, ia masih tetap dipandang sebelah mata dan masih dianggap tidak berada di posisi yang setara dengan orang Jepang. Bisnis pachinko yang selalu diasosiasikan dengan pendatang Korea adalah bisnis, yang ditekuni oleh masing-masing tokoh generasi kedua bahkan ketiga, menunjukkan bahwa status zainichi Korea tidak akan semudah itu berubah dan mereka akan tetap berada dalam posisi marjinal yang dipandang sebelah mata. There are several categories of Korean zainichi amongst Japanese society, which are pluralist, nationalist, individualist, and assimilationist. The first generation in this novel is treated unfairly because of their ethnicity which makes them live in slum area. The second generation is represented by two contradictive characters. The first character, Noa, wants to be Japanese, which leads him to choose the path of naturalization. Through naturalization, this character is regarded as an assimilationist who ignores his ethnic identity and lives as a Japanese citizen to obtain equal social status. Meanwhile, the second character, Mozasu has the opposite tendency of Noa’s. He does not choose the path of naturalization and tends to maintain his true identity as a Korean. The third generation is left uncertain about their identity, although they were born and grow up in Japan. With his background education, Solomon as a third-generation is still underestimated and considered unequal to Japanese people. The pachinko business, which is always being associated with Korean migrants, is a business occupied by each of the second and third generation characters, showing that the status of Korean zainichi will not change easily, and they will remain in marginal position and being underestimated.
