World-wide occurrence of diabetes mellitus and its complications in the form of neuropathic and metabolic disorders implies the necessity of development and application of the new methods for their combined treatment, such as the low-frequency transdermal electrical stimulation with the use of the OMRON Е-4 myostimulator. This technique was shown to significantly alleviate the symptoms of pain syndrome and other neuropathic manifestations. Moreover, it facilitated the reduction of body weight and visceral fat content in such patients and thereby considerably decreased the risk of development of diabetic complications.
The results of treatment of patients (n = 100) suff ering from genital endometriosis are presented. The 1-st (control, n = 30) group of patients, against the background of standard drug therapy, received the Elevit® complex; The 2nd (main, n = 70) group of patients additionally received oxygen therapy procedures, in the form of oxygen inhalations from the Newlife apparatus and hirudotherapy using medical leeches. The course of treatment consisted of 10–12 procedures. The severity of pelvic pain in these patients was assessed on the YOUR scale in the period: before and after treatment, as well as after 1, 3, 6, 9 months. As a result, in patients in the 2-nd (main) group receiving complex treatment, the pain syndrome signifi cantly decreased, and it was also possible to predict its further decrease by two periods ahead, according to statistical regression analysis, compared with the treatment results in patients in 1-th (control) group.
This randomized controlled trial included a group of women (n = 40) with stress urinary incontinence. All patients received standard drug therapy and were randomized in two groups. The first (main, n = 18) group of patients received additional extracorporeal peripheral magnetic stimulation. The 2‑nd (control, n = 22) group of patients received an additional course of Kegel exercises. The state of the pelvic floor muscles was assessed according to perineometry data, and the general condition of patients was evaluated in accordance with the criteria that determine the patients’ quality of life. As a result of the course of complex treatment, clinical symptoms, as well as the indicators of the functional state of the pelvic floor muscles and quality of life criteria significantly improved in the patients of the first (main) group, compared with the results of treatment in the patients of the 2‑nd (control) group.
It is known that neurotic disorders can be independent risk factors for the development of complications in patients with cardiovascular diseases. This requires the creation of new rehabilitation programs that include not only medicines but also physiotherapy. To this end, an analysis was made of the effect of complex treatment, including visual color impulse therapy, on the psychoemotional state of 80 patients with cardiovascular diseases, hypertensive disease and coronary heart disease, who also have asthenic-depressive symptoms. In this case, patients in two control groups received standard drug therapy, and in the two main groups received additional color pulse therapy from the «Mellon» apparatus. Dynamics of the psychoemotional state of patients was studied with the help of a test that determines the quantitative changes in the state of health, activity and mood, as well as the stress index that characterizes the regulation of the heart rhythm under stress. Prior to the start of treatment, functional disintegration of regulatory mechanisms was characteristic for all patients, which was accompanied by psychoemotional disorders that indirectly reflected the state of highly organized nervous processes in the cerebral cortex, which altered the values of SI stress index indicators and the «well-being, activity, mood» test. The regression statistical analysis was used in this work. As a result, the indications and contraindications to the use of this method of treatment were determined. After the course of complex treatment, including drug and visual color impulse therapy, positive dynamics in the patients’ state was revealed, which indicates an increase in the functional capabilities of their body, and also, given the good tolerability of visual color impulse therapy, the feasibility of including this method in complex treatment at any stage of rehabilitation.
The results of the complex treatment of patients with generalized chronic periodontitis, including photodynamic therapy and microcurrent electrical stimulation are presented. Analysis of the immediate and long-term results showed the effectiveness of the impact of this treatment on cerebral hemodynamics and autonomic balance in these patients.
