La presente investigación surge de la necesidad cada vez más urgente de atender, pero sobre todo identificar cuáles son los factores que inciden en la ideación e intento suicida en los jóvenes universitarios. Es basta la literatura que aborda este fenómeno, incluso organizaciones a nivel mundial han establecido parámetros de atención a dicha problemática. Sin embargo se observa que la familia, particularmente la capacidad de cohesión y adaptación juegan un papel crucial para que sus integrantes logren desarrollar sus capacidades, sentirse contenidos, apoyados y pertenecientes a una familia que les provee no sólo de necesidades básicas, sino de afectos y los recursos necesarios para un adecuado desarrollo. La falta de estos elementos impacta directamente en la percepción de los jóvenes de sentirse solos o ajenos a su grupo familiar. El objetivo de este estudio versó en identificar si existe relación entre la adaptación y cohesión familiar con el riesgo de ideación e intento suicida en estudiantes de primer ingreso a las carreras médico-biológicas. Los resultados obtenidos muestran diferencias significativas por carrera, así como con el promedio y la orientación sexual. Así también se encontraron diferencias en quiénes han tenido un intento y quienes no, donde estos últimos muestran más cohesión y adaptabilidad. No se presentaron diferencias por sexo. Con base en lo anterior, esta investigación provee de más elementos para incluir a la familia en la prevención y tratamiento de las conductas suicidas, siento ésta uno de los escenarios que favorecen u obstaculizan el adecuado desarrollo de sus miembros.
En el presente trabajo se describen el significado psicológico, roles y expectativas asociadas a la paternidad en hombres y mujeres adolescentes de la Ciudad de México, mediante la técnica de redes semánticas naturales modificadas. Los resultados muestran la permanencia del rol proveedor en el padre en ambos sexos; no obstante, existen diferencias entre sexos en términos de expectativas de la paternidad, sugiriendo un alejamiento de este rol hacia una imagen más involucrada en el cuidado, atención y afecto. Se vislumbra la resignificación de la paternidad para los jóvenes, lo cual conlleva a cuestionarse sobre la educación familiar, así como sobre los retos y oportunidades socioculturales de su fortalecimiento en los jóvenes, lo que podría ser el inicio de un cambio hacia las nuevas paternidades que se intentan ejercer en la actualidad.
<p>El presente estudio tuvo por objetivo evaluar las características psicométricas del empoderamiento en estudiantes universitarios así como validar la versión corta de la escala de Empoderamiento y Agencia personal (EMPAP; Padilla Gámez & Cruz del Castillo, 2018). Dicho instrumento tiene por objetivo evaluar la autopercepción del empoderamiento a través de cuatro factores que miden: agencia personal, autoconciencia, empoderamiento en la salud y empoderamiento social. El instrumento consta de 47 reactivos en escala de respuesta tipo Likert de 5 puntos que evalúan en un continuo de 0 a 5, situaciones en las que los individuos perciben menor o mayor empoderamiento. La versión corta de la escala se desarrolló a través de un análisis factorial confirmatorio. Para este estudio participaron 255 estudiantes de los cuales el 38% son hombres y 62% mujeres, con edades entre 17 y 29 años, pertenecientes a las carreras: de psicología, medicina, biología, optometría, enfermería y odontología. Los resultados arrojaron un modelo que conserva las cuatro dimensiones originales con 12 reactivos y un buen ajuste en GFI, AGFI, CFI, y RMSEA. El coeficiente Alpha de Cronbach total fue de .81, por tanto se puede concluir que se obtuvo una versión corta, válida y confiable y sensible a la población universitaria.</p>
El presente estudio versa sobre el impacto de la cultura a través de la familia, y en cómo hombres y mujeres eligen pareja. A pesar de que hoy en día se elige al (a) compañero(a) en función de gustos y afinidades personales, en la realidad parece que la familia sigue participando consciente o inconscientemente en la elección de pareja de sus miembros. En épocas pasadas ésta se hacía con base en intereses meramente económicos y familiares; sin embargo, al pasar de los años, esto fue cambiando hasta el punto en que se supone que la elección es totalmente una decisión personal. En este sentido, el objetivo de este estudio fue saber si existen consejos o recomendaciones de la familia y la cultura para elegir pareja, y si son tomados en cuenta para emparejarse. Para llevar a cabo este estudio se aplicó un cuestionario abierto con las preguntas antes mencionadas a 228 participantes, de los cuales 154 eran mujeres y 74 hombres. Las edades fluctuaron entre los 19 y 56 años. Provenían de diversas universidades públicas, privadas y algunos centros de trabajo. Tras hacer un análisis de contenido se identificaron 28 códigos que se agruparon en cuatro familias. A su vez, se realizaron X2 para identificar si existen diferencias por sexo en las categorías. Los resultados indican que más de la mitad de la muestra refiere tomar en cuenta las recomendaciones de su familia, aunado a que existen diferencias en lo que la cultura y la familia recomiendan a hombres y a mujeres.
Es importante, dentro del estudio de relaciones interpersonales, la satisfacción marital en la pareja, pues este factor está ligado a la felicidad, bienestar y salud psicológica (Arias-Galicia, 2003). Esta investigación tuvo por objetivo validar la Escala de Evaluación de las Relaciones de Hendrick (1988) en personas que viven con su pareja. Con el fin de asegurar la equivalencia conceptual se empleó el método traducción- re traducción y se aplicó el IMSM (Cortés, Reyes, Díaz-Loving, Rivera & Monjarraz, 1994) para obtener validez convergente y de constructo. Las características psicométricas que se obtuvieron fue una de confiabilidad de α= .88, siendo unifactorial y validez convergente con el IMSM (r=.775 y r=.682). Los resultados muestran que la validez y confiabilidad de la escala son apropiadas. La escala es efectiva, útil, y fácil de aplicar en la población mexicana.
