Salicylic acid is a phytochemical with beneficial effects on human well-being. Salicylic acid is a phenolic compound and is present in various plants where it has a vital role in protection against pathogenic agents. Natural sources include fruits, vegetables and spices. The most famous and defined effect of salicylic acid is prostaglandin synthesis inhibition. Salicylic acid has antiinflammatory effects through suppression of transcription of genes for cyclooxygenase. Most of the pharmacological properties of salicylic acid can be contributed to the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Also, it was discovered that salicylic acid has other in vivo cyclooxygenase-independent pathways. Since salicylic acid does not inhibit cyclooxygenase considerably, the anti-inflammatory effect is not a consequence of direct inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity. Because of its fundamental role, it was suggested that inhibition of nuclear factor kappa B by salicylic acid is one of the key anti-inflammatory mechanisms of action for salicylates. One of the most studied properties of salicylic acid is its antioxidative activity. Salicylic acid is a confirmed inhibitor of oxidative stress. Salicylic acid is capable of binding iron. This fact is significant for antioxidative effect of salicylic acid because iron has an important function in the course of lipid peroxidation.
In order to successfully master the initial writing process that a child faces at school, it is necessary to develop fine motor coordination of the arm, hand and finger muscles. The aim of this paper is to provide the child with perceptual - motor activities, movement games as well as other physical activities that require precise movements and coordination between the two hands and arms and eyes to release the hand, hand and fingers, prepare the child for fine motor coordination and encourage initial writing. The sequence of procedures in the development of fine motor coordination as well as physical activities contributing to the development of: muscle tone, lateralization, movements of the hand and fingers, sensory observation, orientation in time and space, abilities and skills of ocular evaluation, feeling for rhythm and fine motor - visual guidance, willing control and coordination between the movement of the hand, hand and fingers, both hands and arms and eyes. The above physical activities and movement games can be used at all stages of educational work for expanding and determining children's motor skills within guided and free activities, movement games, morning physical exercise, outdoor and indoor playgrounds. Theoretical analysis of movement games and physical activities is an attempt to determine fine motor skills (preparation for initial writing) as a product-outcome, as a product of the mentioned organized activities that can provide them with specific and varied experiences, and help to develop motor and other abilities that will encourage children to write.
Nowadays, world is characterized by a turbulent social life and total dependence on the new technologies. For this reason, an individual, that is, a man with the lost soul, is a good consumer of everything that is offered on the market. Sport is not spared, either. This is true not just for its elite and professional segment, but it applies equally so to an amateur and recreational sport. According to the rules of the New Age, in which an idea prevails that everything is permitted (to us), a special group of athletes has been created, who have been assigned the role of an idol. Thus, they become the object of worship and the images of the neopagan deities. These sports idols have (at least) two important roles: (1) to assist the achievement of (too) large profits for sports clubs and sports associations, and (2) to blur the image of the real world we live in. This applies both to the region in which we live, and to all the other parts of the world. Sports idolatry is everywhere, and it acts similarly.
Introduction: The prevalence of the metabolic syndrome has been increasing in the last years. There are tendencies to reduce it by applying the medical treatment, but also by means of a series of other measures, primarily by diet and physical activity. Many previous studies have confirmed the positive effect of physical activity on the metabolic syndrome, but the optimal intensity and volume of training have not clearly been defined yet. Methodology: Descriptive methods and theoretical analysis were used for the collection, classification, and analysis of targeted research. PUB MED and KOBBSON databases were analyzed. Total of 65 studies met all the criteria set in advance. Results and discussion: The largest number of papers was related to the effects of programmed physical exercise on blood sugar regulation. The risk of developing type 2 diabetes can be reduced by 58% and even up to 65% with the help of physical exercise. It was found that the best effect on insulin is a combination of resistance training and aerobic exercise. However, in the long run, the greater intensity aerobic training ensures long-term benefit related to the activity of the insulin compared to weight training or low intensity exercise. As regards the change in the lipid status, it has been found that the controlled, long-term, moderate to moderately strong physical activity, improves the lipid profile by raising high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and by lowering the levels of triglycerides in obese adults with the features of the metabolic syndrome.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
