Logistics performance of a country plays an important role within both economic and social developments. Therefore examining the relationship among the logistic performance, corruption and foreign trade volume of a country would contribute to the literature. Logistics Performance Index (LPI) has firstly been issued by World Bank in 2007 and continued in the years 2010, 2012, 2014. In this paper the mediator effect of Logistics Performance Index (LPI) on the relation between Corruption Perception Index (CPI) and Foreign Trade Volume (FTV) analyzed for the years 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014. The hierarchical regression analysis method was used in order to determine the mediator effect. As per the analysis results, the mediator effect of LPI on the relation between CPI and FTV is statistically significant. Consequently it could be suggested that the logistics ability of a country trigger the relation between corruption and foreign trade volume.
Technological innovations in recent years have resulted in paper based documentation will be completely abandoned in all business processes, however the paper-based processes still prevail in foreign trade transactions due to complicated business processes. Institution and companies in different countries involved in foreign trade transactions. Therefore integrative solutions are needed. This paper seeks to put forward a methodology to pave the way to the future international trade. Therefore we developed a taxonomical approach to this clutter in order to partially surmount the integration problem because a road map should be determined before the holistic solution. Taxonomical approach has been suggested for grouping the foreign trade documents in terms of their functions. All the parties participating in a foreign trade transaction should be able to connect to each other in a single online platform. There is a need for a single online platform of which all parties are members to complete a foreign trade transaction using a single integrated electronic document. Finally, opinions of the professional have been received for seeing the real procedures. Literature and practices have been synthesized and partial solution grouping the foreign trade documents in terms of their functions has been suggested. To constitute a base for the initial step of the road to integrated foreign trade document a taxonomical table has been prepared. Aim of this table to guide the firms that search for solutions to develop electronic equivalent of paper based documents.
The aim of this research is to clarify the mediator role of logistic performance and global competition in relationship between corruption perception and gross domestic product. In the literature there are some studies showing that there are other factors besides logistic performance that have effects on GDP. In some of these studies, corruption perception has been found to be influential on both logistic performance and GDP. In this study, a model that evaluates logistics performance together with corruption perception and global competition index is proposed. According to the analysis results, it has been found statistically significant that logistics performance and global competition play mediator role at the same time in the relation between corruption perception and GDP. According to these results, Turkey evaluation has been made. This study is important in terms of the role of LPI and GCI indices in the relationship between CPI and GDP. This research sheds light on what can be done to increase the benefits of investments in the logistics sector to the national economy. According to the results of this research, it is necessary to struggle with corruption and to take remedial measures in global competition while making investments to increase the logistics performance of a country.
Emerging technologies and innovative developments cause the supply chain management to change dramatically. Therefore the subjects regarding trust have become important. Trust established in Supply Chain causes effective relationships among definitive numbers of suppliers in the long-run. The effect of trust in supply chain on firm performance and the contribution of agility to this relation have been supported in the literature. In this research, the role of agility in the effect of trust in supply chain on firm performance will be investigated. According to the results of hypotheses tests, there are positive and significant relations between supply management integration and trust in supply chain, between trust in supply chain and supply chain agility, and between supply chain agility and firm performance. Keywords: supply management integration, trust in supply chain, supply chain agility, firm performance IntroductionOver recent years, advanced companies for being afloat and protecting their positions in the competitive markets, have to gain new customers and provide differences against their competitors in increasing competion world. Therefore supply chain has become salient area to work in academic circles. However, it is widely mentioned in the literature that factors affect firm performance.Since supply management integration touches relationships of supply chain, researchers have argued for integration affect on performance to take into account relationship between supply chain partners (Arnt Buvik, 2015); (Pejvak Oghazi, 2016);(Lin, 2013); (Daniel Prajogo, 2012). In addition to integration factor, some concepts about the relationships such as honesty, trust, and collaboration became essential research topics for supply chain studies. However, researchers focus the relations on trust and integration (Min Zhang, 2013). Although the role of trust element on firm performance through relational structure has been examined (Jury Gualandris, 2015). Researchers also studied for agility affects on firm performance (David M. Gligor C. L., 2015) and furthermore the relations between agility and trust (Yang, 2014).The paper includes five sections: introduction, background, hypotheses development, research method, and the conclusion. In the bacground section, we present the literature of supply management integration, trust in supply chain, supply chain agility, and firm performance. Furthermore we explained their relations according to our research model in the hypotheses development part. For the research method, we used the structural equation modeling and in the conclusion part we showed analysis results.
