Structured light is widely researched in tridimensional profilometry, due to its capability to acquire surface data from a series of images in a fast and reliable way. Hence a wide range of techniques are being used for such purpose, among which are the use of color to encode patterns. The use of colorcoding provides the ability to obtain additional data from a single image, to achieve faster 3D reconstructions with higher resolution. In this paper, a new classification of color-coded structured light patterns is proposed, and a review of the techniques is presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
