Abstract.Hypertension is a fatal non-communicable disease worldwide. The still-controversial risk factor for high blood pressure is the habit of drinking coffee. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between coffee drinking habits and hypertension in the 18-40 age group at UPT Puskesmas Pasirkaliki, Bandung city. The method used in this study is a case-control method with non-probability sampling technique, namely purposeful sampling. This study was conducted from November 2021 to September 2022. A total of 162 respondents participated in this study. Data collection was done in two ways, secondary data of the patient and primary data from the patient questionnaire. Data processing by Chi-Square test. The results showed that 49 subjects had hypertension with the highest age of hypertension in the age group from 26 to 40 years old, with up to 40 respondents. There was no association between coffee drinking habits and hypertension with a p-value of 0.157 (p>0.05). The rate of hypertension is not only due tothe habit of drinking coffee but can be caused by other factors such as stress, smoking, unhealthy eating habits. Abstrak. Hipertensi merupakan penyakit tidak menular yang menyebabkan kematian di seluruh dunia. Faktor risiko hipertensi yang masih menjadi perdebatan adalah kebiasaan konsumsi kopi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan kebiasaan konsumsi kopi terhadap hipertensi pada rentang usia 18 – 40 tahun di UPT Puskesmas Pasirkaliki Kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode case control dengan teknik pengambilan sampel non-probability sampling, yaitu purposive sampling. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan November tahun 2021 sampai bulan September tahun 2022. Sejumlah 162 responden ikut serta dalam penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan dua cara, data sekunder pasien dan data primer dari kuesioner yang diberikan kepada pasien. Pengolahan data menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 49 subjek mengalami hipertensi dengan rentang usia terbanyak mengalami hipertensi pada usia 26 – 40 tahun sebanyak 40 responden. Tidak terdapat hubungan antara kebiasaan konsumsi kopi dengan hipertensi dengan p-value sebesar 0,157 (p>0,05). Kejadian hipertensi tidak hanya diakibatkan karena kebiasaan konsumsi kopi, tetapi dapat disebabkan oleh faktor lain seperti stres, kebiasaan merokok, dan pola makan yang tidak sehat.
Abstract. Hypertension is a non-communicable disease (NCD) which has recently become a serious problem. Hypertension that occurs in terms of age range which was originally only in the elderly is now shifting to occur in young adults. Fast food is a trend that is in great demand by young adults. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between fast food consumption habits and the incidence of hypertension in young adults at the UPT Puskesmas Pasirkaliki, Bandung City. The research method used is analytic observational with a case control approach, selected by non-probability purposive sampling technique. There were 162 subjects who met the inclusion criteria for cases and controls. Data collection was taken through primary data by filling out a fast food frequency questionnaire and secondary data from medical records. Processing data using Chi-square test. This research was conducted from November 2021 to September 2022. The results showed that there is no relationship between fast food consumption habits and the incidence of hypertension with a P value of 0,984 (p>0,05). The incidence of hypertension in young adults occurs not only due to fast food consumption, but can also be caused by stress factors, gender, and smoking habits. Abstrak. Hipertensi adalah penyakit tidak menular (PTM) yang akhir-akhir ini menjadi masalah serius. Hipertensi yang terjadi ini dari segi rentang usia yang awalnya hanya pada lansia sekarang bergeser terjadi pada usia dewasa muda. Makanan cepat saji menjadi tren yang banyak diminati oleh kalangan dewasa muda. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan antara kebiasaan konsumsi makanan cepat saji dengan kejadian hipertensi pada usia dewasa muda di UPT Puskesmas Pasirkaliki Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional analitik dengan pendekatan case control, dipilih dengan teknik non probability purposive sampling. Subjek berjumlah 162 orang yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi kasus dan kontrol. Pengumpulan data diambil melalui data primer dengan pengisian kuesioner frekuensi makanan cepat saji dan data sekunder dari rekam medik. Pengolahan data menggunakan uji Chi-square. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan November tahun 2021 sampai bulan September tahun 2022. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwatidak terdapat hubungan antara kebiasaan konsumsi makanan cepat saji dengan kejadian hipertensi dengan P value 0,984 (p>0,05). Kejadian hipertensi pada usia dewasa muda terjadi bukan hanya karena konsumsi makanan cepat saji, melainkan juga bisa disebabkan oleh faktor stress, jenis kelamin, dan kebiasaan merokok.
