Summary Electrocardiographic problems in the equine clinic Over a 10 year period 22 ECG cases were chosen and their diagnostic significance discussed. The cases embraced disturbances of rhythm (A/V block of Wenckebach type, ventricular paroxysmal tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmia etc); high R voltage due to cardiac enlargement; low voltage due to hydropericardium. The P waves were mainly markedly positive, the T waves slightly positive. The PQ and ST segments were strikingly constant. The ECG provides valuable diagnostic, differential diagnostic and prognostic indications in disturbances of rhythm, pericardial fluid and cardiac dilatation.
