A cross-sectional survey, using cluster sampling technique, of slum population, was done to explore the oral health status and the prevalence of common oral diseases. A close ended questionnaire comprising Decayed, Missing and Filled Teeth (DMFT) Index, Gingival Index (Löe and Silness) and Plaque Index was applied to evaluate and record oral diseases, in both male and female population, covering a wide range of age groups. Clinical examination was carried out in different slum set ups, including slum schools by trained and calibrated examiners. Three thousand nine hundred and four (3904) slum dwellers participated in the survey. Prevalence of Caries was expressed in mean DMFT, recording of gingival status followed the method of Löe and Silness, oral hygiene status was evaluated using Plaque index. Mean decayed component, of the DMFT, was significantly higher than filling and missing component. Both decayed and missing components showed increasing trend, and filling components decreased as the age progressed. Prevalence of gingivitis and plaque accumulation was remarkably high among slum dwellers. Significantly high level of common oral diseases was found among Tongi slum dwellers.
I. Along with the aging process, the body will experience various health problems. One of them osteoartrisis which is a disease of bones and joints that occur due to aging process. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of warm water compress therapy on the reduction of osteoarthritis joint pain in elderly at posyandu elderly puskesmas Pandian Sumenep. The type of research is Pre Experimental, where the population amounted to 40 people and the sample amounted to 32 people with elderly characteristics who experience osteoarthritis joint pain. Sampling technique used is Type Probability sampling that is Simple Random Sampling. Data collection methods used were interviews and questionnaires. Presentation of data using pie chart and characteristic distribution table with T paired statistical test. The results showed that more than half had osteoarthritis joint pain with moderate pain scale of 22 elderly (68.7%). Based on the result of T paired test, there is influence between warm water compress therapy to decrease osteoarthritis joint pain in elderly (ρ = 0,000 <α = 0,05). Osteoarthritis pain in elderly in Puskesmas Pandian Sumenep mostly due to the activity of many or excess. Advice for health services to make warm compress therapy as a self-directed nursing intervention in treating joint pain patients with osteoarthritis.
Infectious disease is a problem that has not been resolved, whereas one of the infectious diseases is leprosy. Self-care agency is the ability needed to care for oneself or others. This study aimed to determine the support of health workers and self-efficacy that affect the self-care agency of leprosy patients. The research design used cross-sectional. This research was conducted in November 2021 in Sumenep Regency. The study population was 232 leprosy patients with a total sample of 145. The sampling technique was proportional random sampling with analysis of the effect using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) SmartPLS test. Health worker support had an effect on self-efficacy with T value of 5.408 (> 1.96). Self-efficacy had an effect on self-care agency with T value 9,743 (> 1.96). The support of health workers didn’t directly affect the self-care agency, but it had an indirect effect through self-efficacy. An interpersonal approach such as the support of health workers needs to be done to increase the self-efficacy of the patient, which aims to help patients have a self-care agency to carry out self-care and prevent the transmission of leprosy.

The samples of this research were 44 elderly suffered by hypertension. Purpossive sampling technique using inclusion and exclusion criteria approach. Data analysis in this study used the Paired samples t-test. The results of this study for elderly with blood pressure before given health education have basic pressure at stage II as many as 18 people (20.5%). Elderly’s blood pressure after given health education mostly at stage I as many as 37 people (42.1%) and effective health education against pressure blood pressure in elderly with hypertension in Integrated Healthcare Center Elderly in Pangarangan Village, Sumenep. Getting lower education level, getting high the risk of developing hypertension for elderly.
