We study the P − V criticality and phase transition in the extended phase space of anti-de Sitter (AdS) black holes in higher-dimensional de Rham, Gabadadze and Tolley (dRGT) massive gravity, treating the cosmological constant as pressure and the corresponding conjugate quantity is interpreted as thermodynamic volume. Besides the usual small/large black hole phase transitions, the interesting thermodynamic phenomena of reentrant phase transitions (RPTs) are observed for black holes in all d ≥ 6-dimensional spacetime when the coupling coefficients c i m 2 of massive potential satisfy some certain conditions.

Vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) light has important applications in many fields, ranging from device fabrication to photochemistry, from environmental remediation to microscopy and spectroscopy. Methods to produce coherent VUV light frequently utilize high harmonic generation in media such as rare gases or atomic vapors; nonlinear optical crystals that support second harmonic generation into the VUV are quite rare. Here, we demonstrate an all-dielectric metasurface designed for the nonlinear optical generation of VUV light. Consisting of an array of zinc oxide nanoresonators, the device exhibits a magnetic dipole resonance at a wavelength of 394 nm. When excited with ultrafast laser pulses at this wavelength, the second harmonic at 197 nm is readily generated. Manipulation of the metasurface design enables control over the radiation pattern. This work has the potential to open the door toward simple and compact VUV sources for new applications.

We report on fully epitaxial FeSe0.5Te0.5 (FST) thin films with high-quality grown on CaF2 (00l) substrate at a low temperature of 300°C by pulsed laser deposition. The transport Jc of thin films is up to 1.36 MA/cm 2 in self-field and 0.97 MA/cm 2 in 9 T at 4.2 K, indicating very weak field dependence. A nearly isotropy of Jc (γ= J H//ab c /J H//c c ) as low as 1.09 at 9 T is achieved in the FST thin films. Moreover, no clear amorphous interfacial layer presents between the film and the substrate probably ascribing to low temperature and low laser repetition rate grown, while the thickness of reaction layer is approximate 5 nm in many other works. The evidences of transmission electron microscopy show some lattices with lateral size of < 5 nm×20 nm seem to be disturbed. Those location defects are thought to be responsible for nearly isotropic behavior of superconductivity.

This shows that, besides the Van der Waals-like SBH/LBH phase transitions, the socalled reentrant phase transition (RPT) appears in four-dimensional space-time when the coupling coefficients 2 of massive potential and Born-Infeld parameter satisfy some certain conditions. In addition, we also find the triple critical points and the small/intermediate/large black hole phase transitions for = 5.

We study the P − V critical behaivor of N-dimensional AdS black holes in Einstein-Maxwellpower-Yang-Mills gravity. Our results show the existence of the Van der Waals like small-large black hole phase transitions when taking some special values of charges of the Maxwell and YangMills (YM) fields. Further to calculate the critical exponents of the black holes at the critical point, we find that they are the same as those in the Van der Waals liquid-gas system.
