O avanço tecnológico pode auxiliar em diversas áreas de estudo, inclusive no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Dado que a era da informação é ubíqua, o objetivo desse artigo é relatar uma ação extensionista realizada no evento V Conhecendo o Cérebro, na Universidade Estadual do Norte do Paraná. O foco dessa ação foi popularizar o tema aprendizagem de máquinas para crianças e adolescentes. O estande, preparado de forma lúdica e interativa, apresentou atividades relacionadas ao comportamento das redes neurais humanas e as semelhanças com uma rede neural computacional, visando explicar sua origem e finalidade. Para isso, contou com demonstração de jogos, diálogos com o público-alvo com muita interação entre expositores e visitantes. Como resultado, percebe-se que o tema de Inteligência Artificial, apesar de complexo, pode ser trabalhado com o público infanto-juvenil dado que eles demonstraram interesse, realizaram muitas perguntas e interagiram com os expositores.Palavras-chave: tecnologia; inteligência artificial; aprendizagem de máquina; extensão.
O presente relato de extensão universitária visa apresentar a V Semana Nacional do Cérebro da UENP, focando no perfil da comunidade atingida pela ação. Essa ação ocorreu entre os dias 27 e 29 de março de 2019 e envolveu palestras sobre Neurociências com foco na saúde mental, pesquisas laboratoriais e inovações tecnológicas na área. Como meio de divulgação, utilizou-se mídias online. Os ouvintes se inscreveram via Google Forms. Como resultado, 358 pessoas se inscreveram, sendo que 256 pessoas estiveram presentes no primeiro dia, 255 no segundo e 60 no terceiro dia do evento (no bar, com lotação limitada). Apesar de ser uma ação extensionista, 90% dos ouvintes eram estudantes de graduação, mas que não necessariamente são da área de Neurociência, o que demonstra que o evento ainda está restrito ao ambiente acadêmico. Desse modo, para atingir a comunidade para além dos muros da universidade, é necessário repensar no formato desse tipo de ação extensionista, desde a divulgação, até a execução.
O presente trabalho relata a experiência de uma ação extensionista que fez parte da Semana Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia focada em ensinar neurociências para crianças e adolescentes. Para isso, utilizou como material atividades e práticas artísticas inspiradas no livro Caçadores de neuromitos kids: em busca da verdade sobre o cérebro. Como resultado, mais de 375 pessoas visitaram o evento e interagiram com as monitoras nos dois estandes focados nessa temática. Ao final da ação, os visitantes opinaram sobre o quanto gostaram das atividades por meio de um recurso com escala Likert de cinco emoticons (“detestei”, “não gostei”, “indiferente”, “gostei”, “gostei muito”). Dentre os respondentes, mais de 90% assinalaram “gostei muito” em ambos os estandes, além da observação e do envolvimento dos(as) participantes por meio de perguntas e demonstração de interesse nas atividades propostas.
