The 2019–2020 coronavirus pandemic, also known as Covid-19, debuted on December 12, 2019 in downtown Wuhan, China, when a group of people with pneumonia of unknown cause appeared, was mainly linked by the owners of stalls working on the Huanan fish market, who also sold live animals. The virus presents evidence of person-to-person transmission, and the transmission rate (infection rate) appears to have escalated by mid-January. As measures to prevent the spread of the virus, Romania has adapted a strategy to prevent and control this situation, such as: cancellation or closure of air flights, cancellation of residential meetings, closure of large stores, mandatory self – quarantine of infected persons. Thus, institutions and factories were closed, with the exception of the vital institutions, the closure of churches, educational institutions, universities, sports halls. Awareness campaigns have been launched through the media and social media, the use of disinfectant materials to clean the hands, the use of protective masks and medical gloves, the sanitizing of neighborhoods and roads with cleaning materials. Moreover, most respondents believe that both the country's economy and their personal economy will have to suffer greatly during this period of crisis.
Nowadays, anxiety is a growing phenomenon because people come across more and more stressful situations. Therefore, among its different forms of manifestation, there is social anxiety. This type of anxiety generally starts in adolescence, when personality is still shaping up and when teenagers are more and more interested in getting confirmation from others. When he is analyzed by others, a teenager fears failure and being ashamed when things are not the way they should, he fears being judged by others for possible small mistakes and, thus, anxiety appears. In other words, persons with low self-confidence and lacking confidence in their abilities have low self-esteem and can easily develop a form of anxiety. As we have already mentioned, social anxiety is caused by the fear of being criticized by others, by the fear of being improperly evaluated, by the feeling of being ashamed, of being in the presence of unknown persons, etc. All these social contexts are backgrounds for individuals’ unexplainable restlessness that can lead to physical symptoms such as excessive perspiration, trembling, palpitations, blushing etc. Self-esteem is very important here as it is very important how the subject sees himself or herself in the social situation. Thus, if a person feels unable to deal with situations considered difficult and if there is lack of confidence in her/his own abilities, meaning he/she has low self-esteem, it is highly possible that this behaviour lead to the debut of social anxiety. Therapy sessions help reduce and even eliminate this disturbance. There are certain techniques consisting of facing the problems up to the moment where the subject begins feeling comfortable with normal life aspects which used to be considered anxiety episodes.
Breast cancer is, as we well know, a complex and traumatizing disease, considered to be a systemic one ever since its diagnosis. Facing a diagnosis of breast cancer is often equivalent to facing death itself, which leads to the emergence of powerful emotions which often seem to get out of control. This requires psychological assistance which should be what oncology patients turn to. The support group is a more or less formal environment which offers its members the chance to reduce the disease-related stress and the seclusion which occurs in the case of numerous survivors and co-survivors, a place where they can share fears and worries with other people with similar experiences, who understand what they are going through. It is important to underline the fact that these groups, while they are not a substitute for breast cancer treatment, are however extremely auspicious, being a way to mediate contact and sharing of experience among survivors and co-survivors in the fight against the disease. Asking for help proves that you want to fight for your life and to be ready to deal with the situation.
