Purpose. Our aim is to evaluate the results of treatment with computed tomography (CT) guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for osteoid osteomas which were localized in a difficult area for operation. Materials and Methods. Glenoid, distal tibia, humerus shaft, proximal humerus, and in third finger of the hand proximal phalanx were involved in one patient. Proximal femur was involved in three patients, distal femur was involved in three patients, and proximal tibia was involved in two patients. 9 males and 4 females were aged 4 to 34 years (mean age: 18.5 years). All patients had pain and were evaluated with X-rays, CT, bone scintigraphy, and MRI. In all patients, RF ablation was performed with local anesthesia. The lesion heated to 90°C for 6 minutes. Results. All of the patients achieved complete pain relief after ablation and were fully weight bearing without any support. In all patients, there was soft tissue edema after the procedure. During follow-up, all patients were free from the pain and there was no sign about the tumor. There was no other complication after the process. Conclusion. CT guided RFA is a minimally invasive, safe, and cost-effective treatment for osteoid osteoma placed in difficult area for surgery.
While isolated traumatic dislocation of the elbow is uncommon among children, it can be successfully treated by urgent closed reduction, proper fixation of the elbow and appropriate timely rehabilitation. However, it should be considered that some patients may develop cubitus valgus deformity in a later period. Therefore, each patient with a simple traumatic elbow dislocation should be followed, and the parents should be informed of the potential for any deformity development.

There was a linear correlation between the femoral width and the adductor tubercle-joint line distance irrespective of any factors such as age, gender and height. Therefore, the adductor tubercle can be used as a reliable landmark to determine the joint line level for easy evaluation and measurement during surgery.

The usage of electric scooters has been popular because it is a cheap and fast transportation method. Its use has increased in recent years because public transportation is less preferred during the covid-19 pandemic and in parallel, the publications reporting e-scooter accidents are increasing. There is no article examining the relationship between e-scooter and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in current literature. We aim to examine the relationship between e-scooter accidents and ACL injury incidence. Patients over the age of 18 years who applied to our orthopedics outpatient clinic with the diagnosis of ACL injury between January 2019- June 2021 were evaluated. 80 e-scooter accidents resulting with ACL tears were reviewed. The electronic medical records of the patients were reviewed retrospectively. Information about the age, gender, trauma history of the patients, and type of trauma was obtained. Fifty-eight patients had a history of falling while stopping the scooter, and 22 patients had a history of falling after hitting something. Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction was performed with hamstring tendon grafts in 62(77,5%) of the patients included in the study. 18 (22,5%) patients were followed up with functional physical therapy exercises because they did not want to be operated on. Various bone or soft tissue injuries while using e-scooters have been reported in the literature until now. ACL injury is also seen quite frequently after these traumas, and necessary information and warnings should be given to the users to prevent ACL injuries.
Objective: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common complaint in orthopedic practice and usually treated with surgical intervention. The aim of the study was to compare wide awake local anesthesia no tourniquet (WALANT) technique with general anesthesia and arm tourniquet in Carpal tunnel cases. Methods: Fifty-two patients who underwent surgery for Carpal tunnel syndrome were retrospectively divided into two groups as WALANT technique (Group W) and general anesthesia with arm tourniquet (Group G). In addition to the demographic data, visual analog scale (VAS), opioid consumption, early complications, duration of stay in operating room (DSOR) and first analgesic need time were evaluated. Results: When both groups were evaluated, early postoperative VAS scores, opioid consumption and DSOR were significantly lower in Group W than in Group G. Conclusion: In conclusion, WALANT technique was associated with reduced early postoperative pain, lower DSOR and opioid consumption compared to general anesthesia with tourniquet method for carpal tunnel release.
