Corporate university phenomenon is not new; General Motors began the GM institute in 1927. After that corporate university grew quickly until 1900s when the number of corporate universities increased to 1800. Today, it is reported that there are 2400 corporate universities. Some 40% of Fortune 500 companies already have a corporate university. Corporate University is a name given to the virtual engine that acts as an umbrella, bringing together all the existing training and development units within the corporation to ensure the effective and efficient deployment of all organizational learning initiatives as a strategic and operational enabler. Corporate University should link learning to organization performance. This paper presents an overview landscape of corporate university in Indonesia. Several multinational companies such as PT Telkom Indonesia, PT Pertamina, and PT PLN have implemented corporate university, share their experience in setting up the Corporate University, and how corporate university helps to energize the organization performance. The purpose of this study is to try to explain the contribution and understand the concept of corporate university and to describe the reasons that it is important for corporate university to develop in Indonesia. This paper develops the conceptual model by summarizing existing theories and comparing the different models of corporate university in several multinational companies.
This study aims to understand the effect of different color scheme in perceptions and food product preference, product trial, and purchase intention. Using quantitative approach, the questionnaires data were cross tested by chi square and one-way ANOVA. The study found there were no significant differences between the price perception, the perceived quality, product preferences, product trial and intense to buy in the different color schemes, except white dominant color in perceived quality aspect. Respondents assessed the use of monochrome color schemes tended to have higher price perceptions and higher quality than white, yellow, analog, and complementary color schemes. It is expected to be a reference to provide an understanding of packaging design strategy especially food products by using color scheme. Learning strategies in the digitalization era are vastly expanding. Students are comprised of the millennials for whom life cannot be separated from technology and the internet. The ever-expanding technology has posed new challenge on the teaching process of millennials, and one of which is the growing importance and increased involvement of technology that empower a host of new learning tools. One of the most prominent open-access teaching/learning tool is Kahoot! This chapter aims to complement studies about the use of game-based methods at higher education. The survey was conducted for 1 year at a university located in a small city in Indonesia. A total of 415 students were actively involved in measuring their perceptions of games-based learning tools called Kahoot! Furthermore, this study also measured differences in outcomes between faculties, types of subjects, and commonly used research methods. The result shows that Kahoot! positively impacts student academic achievement as measured by student motivation, enjoyment, engagement, and concentration.
AbstrakTujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mengevaluasi penerapan model bisnis pada Laundry Bar sebagai bisnis yang dapat dikatakan baru. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori business model canvas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dan tipe analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis kualitatif dengan menggunakan in-depth interview dalam mengumpulkan data primer yang dibutuhkan pada penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berupa evaluasi model bisnis Laundry Bar berdasarkan analisis SWOT pada setiap elemen business model canvas yang sudah dilakukan untuk lebih memperhatikan kualitas layanan dan tidak lagi berfokus pada minimasi biaya seperti sebelumnya sehingga struktur biaya bisnis juga berubah dari cost-driven menjadi value-driven. Diharapkan dengan dilakukannya evaluasi model bisnis melalui penelitian ini, hasilnya dapat bermanfaat bagi perkembangan dan keberlangsungan bisnis Laundry Bar kedepannya. The theories used in this research is the theory of business model canvas and SWOT analysis. This research is using descriptive method and the type of analysis used in this research is qualitative analysis by using in-depth interviews to collect primary data that required in this research. The output from this research is the evaluation from Laundry Bar's business model based on the SWOT analysis of each element of the business model canvas. The evaluation is for giving more attention to service quality and not focused on cost minimization anymore. Thus, the business cost structure could change from cost-driven into value-driven. As expected, with this evaluation of business model through this research, the results can be useful for Laundry Bar's business development and sustainability in the future. The development of industrial revolution 4.0 encourages entrepreneurs to be technological entrepreneurs to face increasing competition. It is important for the university, an educational institution, to produce graduates who can compete in the era of Industry4.0 and provide solutions to state problems such as poverty and unemployment. Hence, measuring students' intention to become a technopreneur is necessary to see whether the university can prepare its students to become technopreneur who will be useful for the country and society.
