We describe a case of probable sporadic Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease in the setting of well-controlled HIV and discuss whether exist, in fact, HIV-related factors that may predispose to the development of prion disease. To the best of our knowledge, this is the third report of this association.
Short CommunicationThe Rossolimo sign is the flexion of the toes responding to tapping the ball of the foot, percussing the plantar surface of the great toe, tapping or stroking the balls of the toes, or giving a quick, lifting snap to the tips of the toes. The ocular bobbing (OB) refers to a distinct pattern of spontaneous vertical eye movements that occurs in various diseases of the posterior fossa pathologies. We describe a case of 42-years-old female submitted to epidermoid tumor removal through a subocciptal approach, presenting an OB during the postoperative period.The clinical aspects of the ocular bobbing are reviewed and discussed. There are other presentations or etiologies for OB, therefore differential diagnosis should always be carefully considered.
