___________________________________________________________________ RESUMOO Aedes aegypti é o principal vetor dos vírus da Dengue, Zika e Chikungunya. Uma alternativa para auxiliar no controle deste vetor é o uso de inseticidas botânicos. Objetivou-se neste estudo avaliar a toxicidade dos extratos aquosos das raízes frescas e secas de Eruca sativa, sobre larvas de A. aegypti, e identificar seus principais constituintes químicos. Na extração utilizou-se os métodos de infusão, decocção e maceração; sendo extrato aquoso bruto (EB) e extrato aquoso diluido (ED) na proporção 1:1.Nos extratos com raizes frescas, com até 2h de exposição, no tratamento Infusão (EB), houve 99,33% de mortalidade, na Infusão (ED) 7,99% e nos demais tratamentos não houve mortalidade. Com 4h de exposição, nos extratos Infusão (EB e ED) houve 100% de mortalidade, e no tratamento Decocção (EB) com 48h de exposição, houve 41,33%. Nos extratos de raizes secas, com 24h de exposição, houve mortalidade de 71,99% e 71,33% na Decocção (EB e ED), respectivamente. Com 48h, na Decocção (EB) houve 74,66% de letalidade, a Decocção(ED) 71,33%, a Infusão (ED) 48,66% e a Infusão (EB), 31,99%. Na análise química foi observado carboidratos redutores nos tratamentos raiz fresca infusão, raiz seca infusão e raiz seca decocção, e saponinas em todos os extratos. Concluiuse que os extratos aquosos das raizes frescas e secas de Eruca sativa são tóxicos para larvas do Aedes aegypti e que as saponinas estão envolvidas neste processo PALAVRA-CHAVE: Arboviroses, Inseticidas botânicos, Parasitologia
