This study aimed to analyze the reasons that prevent male adherence to Men's Health Care Programs. To this end, a qualitative study was carried out, carried out in a Teaching Hospital with 30 men who sought the Adult Emergency Service, received and answered a semi-structured questionnaire in August 2018, the data obtained were transcribed to a electronic bank and received statistical analysis and data description. In view of the analysis, it was possible to discuss that the reason for the impediment was work, and the most frequent suggestions were to open on weekends; appointments after business hours; and more doctors for care. Given the above, it was possible to conclude that it is necessary to adopt strategies to encourage the male population to seek primary health care services through the media and the active search by health agents in Basic Health Units, actions and guidelines can contribute to improving the adhesion of the male population to the programs of the National Policy for Integral Attention to Men's Health.
It is a Scoping Review protocol on nursing care in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It aims to formalize the primary study. The protocol defines the paths that will be adopted in the secondary Scoping Review study and was elaborated based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P) and the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA -ScR). The review is expected to map the evidence available in the literature on nursing care in HSCT in the hospital environment.
The present study aims to raise the possible weaknesses of the specifications of geriatric diapers in order to discriminate them in approved; approved with limitations and disapproved by the probability of risk of incidence and prevalence of skin lesions by pressure and/or moisture, according to the assumption that the quality of the components of geriatric diapers may play an important role in the appearance of skin lesions. We used an experience report, with a sample of four geriatric diapers, of the same package. They were used for testing: methylene blue, drinking water and graduated chalice. Scales were created for micition volume measurement and multicriteria model for the quality of geriatric diapers for hospital use. With the methodology of testing of industrial products and Multi Criteria Decision Aid (MCDA) it was possible to evaluate geriatric diapers according to the presence of varied levels of moisture, after the application of a test solution for simulation of voiding volumes. However, even without the weight on the geriatric diapers or with the application of only 1/4 of the weight specified in the package, the touch cover with volume from 400 ml, both the cover and the sheet, had different levels of presence of moisture. Thus, there is a probability of the association of the quality of geriatric diapers with the incidence and prevalence of pressure and/or moisture injury.
The objective of this study was to reflect on the central pillars of the theories of the philosopher Thomas Kuhn, about the process of scientific revolutions and its relationship with the process of academic maturity. For this study, the authors intend to carry out a reflective study, of a descriptive and qualitative nature, recorded in book "A Estrutura das Revoluções Científicas", by Kuhn's authorship. In addition, it is reflecting on the experiences of two authors who are guiding-counseling, and also, as educators, they do not teach illness since graduation, or doctorate. The reflections presented in this study showed that academic maturity has a relationship with the movement in what Kuhn calls a scientific revolution based on the following phases: pre-paradigmatic; normal science; crisis / revolution, new normal science and new crisis / revolution, demonstrating the approximation of these phases of the theory, with the academic experience, bringing possible answers about the relationships resulting from the personal / educational maturation. From the reflection, it was possible to conclude that, the propositions of the aforementioned philosopher, helps us to understand that for academic maturity to occur, these need to fit in a sequential and cyclical way, however, this maturity depends on the degree of the student's relationship and educator and the educator-advisor's view of their role in the educational process.
ABSTRACTObjectives: To identify the deregulation effects of the human body's circadian rhythms in night shift workers, as described by the scientific literature regarding night shift as a risk factor in carcinogenesis. Methods: A
Aims: to evaluate the working ability of a hospital nursing team. Method: this is a descriptive and cross-sectional study. The subjects of the survey were 144 nursing workers from a federal hospital. Data were collected through the Work Ability Index questionnaire and treated by descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Results: the ability for work was evaluated as low for 3.5% of the workers, moderate for 20.8%, good for 47.2% and excellent for 28.5%. There was a correlation between the ability to work and the role performed in terms of nurses and nursing assistants. Discussion: the finding is the same as that found in a previous study carried out with nurses. Conclusion: the research hypothesis was refuted by not establishing an association between work capacity and socio-demographic and lifestyle variables.
This study aimed to reflect the use of the propositions of the work O Quadrrante de Pasteur and its applicability in research of stricto sensu courses in nursing. To this end, a reflective theoretical study of a descriptive and qualitative nature was carried out. The scientific literature was also used to support the discussion and critical analysis, including books and scientific articles, obtained in online databases and in the sectoral library of a university institution, looking for references that adhered to the theme. In view of the analysis, it was possible to reflect that the considerations inherent to what Stokes calls Pasteur's Quadrant, underpin the theoretical reflection on the need to foster discussions about the most varied types of research in the stricto sensu modality in order to obtain the long-dreamed technological advance from research results in different academic and professional modalities. Given the above, it was possible to conclude that the research modalities in Pasteur's Quadrant are necessary for technological advances one at a time, with basic research being inspired by use as an alternative framing the current needs of society and academia.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
