Tourism represents the fastest growing branch of economy, which is focused on the realization of economic effects. In the previous period of tourism development, no account was taken of natural resources and the environment. Contemporary trends indicate the existence of a growing demand for preserved natural resources аnd ecologically clean environment. This trend has caused sustainable tourism development, which will establish a positive relationship between the tourism development and the preservation of the environment. This paper presents the fundamentals of sustainable tourism development. Serbia's mountain areas have a preserved potential of natural resources and the environment, which are the basis for the development of sustainable tourism. The aim of paper is to analyze the previous tourism development of mountain tourist destinations in Serbia, such as Kopaonik and Tara. The indicators of sustainable tourism are tested in this paper, and the results will show whether the previous tourism development in these areas was sustainable or unsustainable.
The prognosis of acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis (APSGN) is still a matter of considerable debate. In an attempt to elucidate this controversy, the medium-term prognosis was evaluated in 40 patients 5–9 years after the onset of the disease, and the long-term prognosis in 88 patients 10–17 years after the onset of the disease. All were sporadic cases. In the medium-term follow-up study, abnormalities were revealed in 5.0% (2/40) of the patients. Hypertension and proteinuria were the only abnormalities detected. In the long-term follow-up study, abnormalities were revealed in 6.8% (6/88) of the patients. Hypertension was found in 3.4, proteinuria in 2.3, and microhaematuria in 2.3% of the patients. In both studies, all patients had normal creatinine clearance. We conclude that the medium-and long-term outcome of patients with APSGN is excellent.
Most of the athletes start competition dehydrated, fail to compensate sweat loss during the game and continue to be dehydrated, regardless what kind of drink was used. These results suggest that hydration strategies must be carefully taken into account, not only by the players, but also by the coaches and the team doctors.
Kostić, M. et al. -Eco-hotels as an example of environmental responsibility and innovation in savings in the hotel industry -Abstract: Green hotels are ecological buildings whose managers set up programs to save water and energy, and reduce solid waste, thereby saving money and aiding preservation of the environment. These hotels have guidelines so that the guests can stay in a safe, non-toxic and energy-efficient lodging. Green hotels are introducing environmental standards and use elements of environmentally friendly new technologies, thereby making a significant contribution to the protection of the environment and achieving better operational results. Looking at global trends in green tourism and hospitality, caused by turbulent development and carrying many negative consequences, the purpose of this paper is to point out and affirm the advantages provided by the green hotels. It also suggests that Serbia can become a more competitive destination considering its potential and resources. Zeleni hoteli uvode ekološke standarde i koriste elemente ekološki prihvatljivih novih tehnologija, čime značajno doprinose zaštiti životne sredine i postižu bolje rezultate poslovanja. Ključne reči: zeleni hoteli, uštede, inovacije, hotelijerstvo JEL klasifikacija: Z320 * marija.kostic@kg.ac.rs Kostić, M. et al. -Eco-hotels as an example of environmental responsibility and innovation in savings in the hotel industry -
The quality and safety attributes of poultry products have attracted increasing widespread attention and interest from scholarly groups and the general population. As natural and safe alternatives to synthetic and artificial chemical drugs (e.g., antibiotics), botanical products are recently being used in poultry farms more than 60% of the time for producing organic products. Medicinal plants, and honeybee products, are natural substances, and they were added to poultry diets in a small amount (between 1% and 3%) as a source of nutrition and to provide health benefits for poultry. In addition, they have several biological functions in the poultry body and may help to enhance their welfare. These supplements can increase the bodyweight of broilers and the egg production of laying hens by approximately 7% and 10% and enhance meat and egg quality by more than 25%. Moreover, they can improve rooster semen quality by an average of 20%. Previous research on the main biological activities performed by biotics has shown that most research only concentrated on the notion of using botanical products as growth promoters, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial agents. In the current review, the critical effects and functions of bee products and botanicals are explored as natural and safe alternative feed additives in poultry production, such as antioxidants, sexual-stimulants, immuno-stimulants, and for producing healthy products.
