Adolescence et handicap, deux termes qui se questionnent mutuellement du fait des interrogations anxieuses que recouvre, pour les jeunes en situation de handicap, le devenir adulte. Or la clinique nous montre que les jeunes déficients, malgré les entraves auxquelles ils sont confrontés, peuvent mener à bien ce processus, en empruntant parfois des voies détournées. Dans cet article, nous questionnons, en nous appuyant sur notre pratique clinique et de recherche auprès d’adolescents déficients intellectuels et d’adolescents déficients moteurs, et à partir de vignettes, les effets du handicap sur le processus d’adolescence. Le handicap est envisagé du côté des limitations motrices et cognitives, mais plus globalement dans la prise en compte des expériences de stigmatisation qu’il fait vivre au sujet et à son environnement. Nous exposons ses incidences potentielles sur le groupe famille, les parents mais aussi la fratrie, ses effets possibles en termes de dépendance et de souffrance psychique pour les adolescents. Cet article permet de mettre en évidence, au-delà des entraves rencontrées, les moyens et les ressources dont disposent ces jeunes pour permettre la mise en œuvre du travail intrapsychique et intersubjectif maturatif relatif à ce processus et ainsi se projeter comme devenant adulte. La dynamique intersubjective est explorée à travers les divers liens familiaux, extrafamiliaux, électifs et affiliatifs, en étai sur les trajectoires singulières des différents jeunes évoqués dans cet article.
Cet article se propose, à partir de notre pratique clinique et de recherche, d’interroger les liens aux pairs, ce qui fait difficulté et ce qui fait ressource selon les environnements dans lesquels évolue l’adolescent en situation de handicap, que la notion de handicap renvoie à une déficience intellectuelle ou à un handicap moteur avec troubles cognitifs associés. Il a pour objectif d’étudier ce que vivent les adolescents accueillis en établissement médico-social, et notamment en internat, ou en ulis , avec les pairs réels et les pairs virtuels. Nous évoquerons assez rapidement ce qui concerne les pairs réels, déjà décrit dans la littérature, pour nous attarder sur un nouvel espace cher aux adolescents, celui du numérique. En effet, les réseaux sociaux et les jeux vidéo permettent à ces adolescents d’autres appartenances, une autre identité, dégagée du poids du handicap, du stigmate. Nous discuterons ensuite les articulations possibles entre ces espaces, leurs incidences au regard du processus d’adolescence, avant de penser comment le lieu de rencontre avec le psychologue peut proposer une écoute et un travail de liaison de ces différentes expériences.
