Le théâtre de Tiago Rodrigues, "malgré les ruines et la mort"1 Este ensaio analisa as relações entre o património literário mundial e a obra teatral de Tiago Rodrigues, autor, encenador, fundador do grupo Mundo perfeito, diretor do TNDMII (2014-2021) e atual diretor do Festival de Avignon. Trata-se de demonstrar como a presença de obras-primas universais na escrita e nos espetáculos do artista português constitui um meio de lutar contra todas as formas de destruição: opressão política, doença, morte, esquecimento. No seu trabalho, Tiago Rodrigues procura criar uma interação entre os textos escritos e os corpos vivos que permite não só prolongar a vida das obras do passado como proporciona o renascer de todos os seres humanos ou fictícios ligados a elas: autores que as escreveram, leitores apaixonados por elas, atores que as interpretaram, personagens. Com esse objetivo, a sua obra teatral explora as diversas relações que podem existir entre um corpo e um texto: aprendizagem de cor em By Heart, leitura nas duas peças baseadas em romances do século XIX (Bovary e The Way she dies); representação teatral no espetáculo Sopro e, finalmente, reescrita nas tragédias: António e Cleópatra a partir da peça de Shakespeare assim como a trilogia trágica inspirada nos autores gregos antigos (Ifigénia, Electra e Orestes).

Elle est annon cée dès 1968 par le « prin temps de Caetano », une période mar quée par un cli mat douver ture et un renou veau cultu rel. Au plus fort du mou ve ment révo lu tion naire (entre le 25 avril 1974 et le 25 novembre 1975), le retour de la liberté dexpres sion et les espoirs de chan ge ment se tra duisent tout par ti cu liè re ment dans lacti vité théâ trale, par la multi pli cation de compa gnies et de spec tacles for te ment poli ti sés. La sta bi li sa tion de la démo cra tie, entre 1976 et 1978, coïn cide avec une res tric tion des sub ven tions qui contraint les acteurs de la vie théâ trale por tu gaise à redé � nir leur place dans la société.
Nicolas Lyon-Caen publie ici sa thèse sou te nue en 2008 à l'uni ver sité Paris I (dir. Cl. Mi chaud) sous le titre Mar chands de miracles. La bour geoi sie jan sé niste pari sienne au XVIII e siècle, elle-même pro lon ge ment d'une thèse de l'École des Chartes consa crée au finan ce ment du « parti » jan sé niste au XVIII e siècle (La boîte à Perrette, 2002). Ce n'est donc pas une his toire de l'ensemble des jan sé nistes pari siens que l'on trou vera dans cet ouvrage, mais une étude cen trée sur la bour geoi sie. Le « petit peuple » jan sé niste, celui des fau bourgs Saint-Marcel et Saint-Antoine, n'appa raît qu'en fili grane, comme clients des « mar chands de miracles ». L'auteur laisse éga le ment au second plan le clergé jan séniste pari sien, bien connu main te nant depuis les tra vaux, entre autres, de Marie-José Michel et de Ségolène de Dainville-Barbiche. Le milieu social observé est celui consti tué par les « Six Corps », c'est-à-dire les six prin ci pales cor po ra tions mar chandes pari siennes, dont les membres reven diquent le qua li fi ca tif de « bour geois ». Le terme ne désigne plus seule ment les titu laires du droit de bour geoi sie, mais cor res pond à ce que le consu lat de Paris pré sente en 1776 comme « l'élite de la classe moyenne des citoyens ». L'auteur a choisi d'élargir cette bourgeoi sie à quelques autres corps pro fes sion nels, tels que les médecins, les notaires, les avo cats et les pro cu reurs. Quant à la méthode employée, elle se veut déli bé ré ment à rebours de celle des études jan sé nistes tra di tion nelles. L'auteur sou haite en effet rompre avec une his to rio gra phie qui a trop long temps étu dié le jan sé nisme à tra vers le seul prisme du monde ecclé sias tique et/ou par le men taire. Il prend ainsi bien garde de ne pas adop ter une lec ture trop détermi niste et conceptualisante, qui verrait dans le jan sénisme une forme de contes ta tion de l'ordre théologico-politique d'Ancien Régime, s'affi rmant comme l'une des prin ci pales voies de « la sortie de la reli gion » au XVIII e siècle (cf. travaux de Marcel Gauchet et de Catherine Maire). Plu tôt que de défi nir un incer tain jansé nisme, il s'attache à comprendre qui sont les jan sé nistes dans un groupe social réputé acquis à ce cou rant reli gieux. Et pour mieux sai sir les moda li tés de cet enga ge ment, l'étude de ce que Michel de Certeau appe lait « la for ma lité des pra tiques » est appa rue comme le meilleur moyen de faire par ler des archives jusqu'ici peu exploi tées. Nicolas Lyon-Caen a en effet tra qué dans les archives nota riales, les papiers privés conservés à la Biblio thèque de Port-Royal, les jour naux-notam ment celui du libraire Hardy dont il a contri bué à l'édi tion-tous les indices permet tant de comprendre et mesu rer les formes de l'enga ge ment jan sé niste : par ti cipation à la struc ture finan cière clan des tine du mou ve ment (la fameuse « Boîte à Perrette »), appel contre la Bulle Unigenitus, dévo tion aux miracles, asso ciée à la pos ses sion ou non de livres et d'images défen dant...
