This study evaluated the in vitro digestibility of nutrients from different diets added with chitosan (Q), technic cashew nut shell liquid (LCC) and the association of Q and LCC. The treatments used consisted of 4 diets (forage: concentrate ratio of 100: 0, 50:50, 40:60 and 20:80) associated with 4 additives (control, chitosan, LCC and the association of Q + LCC), totaling 16 treatments, in a 4x4 factorial randomized block design. The dosages used were: Control (without additives), LCC (600mg/kg DM), Chitosan (900mg/kg DM), and LCCQ (600mg/kg LCC DM + 900mg/kg Chitosan DM). In the laboratory, samples were analyzed for IVDMD, IVNDFD, IVCPD, pH and RAN (ruminal ammonia nitrogen). For pH and RAN analyses, samples were taken at 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours after incubation. The results showed higher digestibility of DM, NDF and CP for diets with chitosan and technic cashew nut shell liquid alone and higher pH and RAN values in the diets containing the two additives. The association of additives brings better results for animal nutrition and increases ruminant productivity.
Palavras-chave: cinética in situ, forragem, jiggs, russel, tifton Ruminal degradability of different grasses of the genus Cynodon spp. at four cutting ages ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to evaluate the ruminal degradability of dry matter of five grasses (Tifton 85, Jiggs, Russel, Tifton 68 and Vaquero) belonging to the genus Cynodon spp. at four ages of regrowth (28; 48; 63 and 79 days), by in situ technique. We used three steers of the Holstein/jersey race, neutered, with 40 months of age and approximate weight of 450 kg, rumen cannulated. The samples were incubated in the rumen in descending order in the time of 96, 48, 36, 12, 6 and 0 hours. The Tifton 68 and Tifton 85 presented best levels of fraction "a", "b" potential and effective degradability of dry matter of cutting interval of 79 days differed from other genotypes. Russell genotype showed lower levels of effective degradability (25.51%) and highest content of nondegradable fraction (52.69%) of dry matter of cutting interval of 79 days and should be managed at a lower age of cutting. Up to 79 days, the genotypes Tifton, Tifton 85 and 68 were the ones which presented best levels of potential and effective degradability of dry matter. All the genotypes can be managed up to 28 days of regrowth.
Palavras-chave: Alimentos alternativos, composição química, degradabilidade, fermentação Nutritional value of industrial waste of guariroba (Syagrus oleracea) for ruminants ABSTRACTAimed to evaluate the chemical composition and ruminal degradation of dry matter, crude protein and neutral detergent fiber of the leaves and the industrialization of waste guariroba for their use in ruminant feed, using the completely randomized design with four treatments (Residue Cleaning 1 (RL1); Waste Cleanup 2 (RL2); Residue Cleaning 3 (RL3)) and three replications. The sheet showed better dry matter (34.43%) and crude protein (10.40%) compared to cleaning residues. The potential and effective degradability of dry matter was higher in leaf guariroba (44.44 and 34.24%), respectively. There was a significant difference (P < 0.05) between treatments for the carbohydrate non fiber and fraction A + B1, and the best results were observed in the residue RL3, 35.95 and 42.20%, respectively. The residues studied show peculiarities in chemical composition and in situ degradability, with individual characteristics enabling use in animal feed.
