A lesão medular apresenta variadas etiologias, atingem principalmente indivíduos do sexo masculino na faixa etária de alta produtividade, ocasionando danos de grau motores, psicológico e sociais. Dessa forma, as Tecnologias Assistivas contribuem para uma execução satisfatória das ocupações e autocuidado. Dentre elas, as órteses, agindo como auxilio ao método de reabilitação, pois contribuem e colaboram na utilização funcional do segmento lesado. O estudo objetivou a confecção de um dispositivo ortotico dinâmico para assistência de indivíduos com sequelas medulares em altura de cervical 6 e 7. A pesquisa tem caráter exploratório do tipo qualitativo, sendo realizada no laboratório de uma universidade pública da região norte. O processo de fabricação ocorreu em 5 fases, resultando em um protótipo de baixo custo resistente a força aplicada, testado em polímeros de policloreto de vinila e fibra sintética de carbono com resina epóxi. Priorizou-se o designer para o dispositivo, seguindo os critérios anatômicos e biomecânicos de movimentação da mão, e assim facilitando suas pressões e pinças. Ponderou-se que a função do dispositivo é diretamente favorecida pela variabilidade dos materiais, e seu acionamento é dado pela tenodese quando ativo e pela mola quando passivo.
