OBJECTIVE The subjective view of psychiatric patients on mechanical restraint is to be examined and the necessity of dealing with this issue consciously is to be pointed out. METHODS 14 patients, who experienced mechanical restraint during a stay in a psychiatric hospital, were questioned in a problem-centered, semi-structured interview. Data analysis was based on inductive category formation, using Mayring's qualitative content analysis. RESULTS Mechanical restraint is primarily experienced as stressful or traumatizing. Patients complain about a lack of information, support and response when referring to mechanical restraint. CONCLUSION Reports of patients who have experienced coercive measures should be increasingly integrated into clinical practice.
Abstract: Since principals in schools are increasingly turning into managers of educational institutions, coaching approaches have an increasing importance. accordingly, the bavarian Ministry for education and Culture in cooperation with the National institute for Quality in Schools and educational research and the academy of teacher education and personnel Management has introduced the project "Coaching -an instrument to professionalise School-based Leadership". the project involves exemplary coachings of school management teams and the training of coaches with a focus on school-related issues at the university of innsbruck. the training of coaches is based on a special curriculum, which was evaluated using a multi-methods approach. 36 a. Bonsen 2006). Schlüsselwörter: Konzeptkompetenz · psychotherapieausbildung · psychodrama · Qualitative Sozialforschung · gabeK Abstract: Concept competence defined by Kahl-Popp (2007) describes a professional skill therapists need to establish a salutary working alliance with their patients. as the therapist's "concept competence" is essential for the therapy outcome, therapist training should include the development of this skill. the study described in this paper aims to measure the "concept competence" and its variance during the training of psychodrama therapists. the pre-post-comparison of the data shows quantitative as well as qualitative differences concerning complexity, coherence and interconnectedness of the responses, which indicates a change in the concept competence in the context of psychodrama training.
