RESUMO Este artigo sintetiza algumas reflexões sobre a qualidade da educação superior realizadas no Projeto Observatório da Educação Superior, desenvolvido pela Rede Sulbrasileira de Investigadores de Educação Superior – RIES/CAPES/INEP. A metodologia, com diferentes procedimentos quantiqualitativos, aponta a complexidade de serem propostos indicadores de avaliação que assumem o caráter contextualizado e temporal da universidade e a multirreferencialidade como valor. A análise dos dados é acompanhada de interpretação teórica geral do projeto e específica de eixos que relacionam qualidade da educação superior aos temas de internacionalização, gestão, ensino de graduação, inovação, formação e desenvolvimento profissional docente. Constroem-se, assim, indicadores que auxiliam a percepção sobre a qualidade e oferecem contribuições.
O presente texto apresenta uma entrevista com Maria Estela Dal Pai Franco, a primeira coordenadora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Ela resgata pontos da trajetória nos anos iniciais da criação do programa. São também trazidas categorias que o campo teórico de gestão da educação superior sinaliza como basilares e presenciais nos movimentos no âmago da universidade e de suas relações ao longo de sua história. São igualmente ressaltados percursos e caracterizações das categorias em momentos diferenciados, abrangendo o interinstitucional, o nacional, o internacional, os grupos e as redes. O relato conclui que, nos diversos relacionamentos e na formação de grupos e redes de pesquisa, a PUCRS vislumbrou e agiu criando possibilidades que vieram a fortalecer os seus cursos de pós-graduação, em específico, o de Educação, mas também de outras áreas de conhecimento pela estrutura de cooperação e de compartilhamento de informações e apoio mútuo.
RESUMOO trabalho analisa características de sustentabilidade na universidade comunitária -UC (não estatal orientada para a região), segundo seus gestores. Objetiva identificar políticas institucionais, mudanças no caráter comunitá-rio e traçar perspectivas. Os conceitos de sustentação da mudança e de análise documental são basilares na análise e discussão. Os resultados mostram na UC as características de expansão, diversificação de áreas e de financiamento e estímulo acadêmico. Elas diferem quanto ao fortalecimento do grupo central e à cultura empresarial. O estudo conclui que o desafio é estabelecer mudanças sustentáveis e manter o caráter comunitário, independente de competições e recursos. O objetivo central deste artigo foi analisar programas de pós-graduação interdisciplinares, buscando captar especificidades dos contextos e pretextos dos programas confrontados. O locus do estudo foram oito programas de pós-graduação (stricto sensu) interdisciplinares reconhecidos e recomendados pela Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes), que têm como princípio o diálogo entre Ciências Humanas e da Natureza e um programa da University of Arizona (U of A), dos Estados Unidos. As análises realizadas identificaram uma relação estreita entre movimentos internacionais de repensar a ciência moderna e a gênese dos programas. Os programas são compreendidos como parte do movimento crescente da ciência que busca repensar a fragmentação e a dualidade, inclusive na direção de legitimar outros espaços de poder e prestígio e rever a organização de áreas do conhecimento historicamente constituídas.
