Abstract -The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between absorptive capacity, innovation and the competitive advantage of the production chain of grapes and wine from Serra Gaúcha. The absorption capacity represents the capacity to absorb new knowledge. While innovation has factors that can increase an organization's competitive advantage from the moment it reaches its maximum point of profitability and competitiveness, it will only continue to grow if there is innovation. However, competitive advantage is linked to performance, to which companies devote greater attention to their products, processes and services, and is directly linked to understanding what the demands are and meeting them in a differentiated manner. In this context, previous studies suggest the interaction between absorptive capacity, innovation and competitive advantage. The research was quantitative, descriptive and causal, operationalized through a cross-sectional survey. The data treatment was performed through structural equations modeling. The final sample was 196 participants from the grape and wine production chain of the Serra Gaúcha region. Through the modeling of structural equations, it can be stated that the absorptive capacity explains 75% of Innovation and that competitive advantage is explained by the absorptive capacity and innovation in 93%. Based on the results found, it can be stated that at the ...
