Palavras -chave: Racismo. Prêmio Educar para a Igualdade Racial. This article resulted from a survey taken place in 2013 from which we analyzed the discourses of some teachers who had won the 4 th Edition of "Prêmio Educar para Igualdade Racial" ("Educate Awards to Racial Equality"). Our start point was based on the premises that racism structures Brazilian society and determines social inequalities. In Literature we could notice that the school actors tend to silence episodes of prejudice and racial discrimination. On the way against this perspective, the discourses of our interviewed reveal that despite racism complexity, it seems possible to break the silence by means of educational practices intentionally performed aiming to overcome it. In this work we reflect about São Paulo city public and private school teachers's contributions to face racism.
This article examines the relationship between academic research and development of public policies for the preservation of educational history and memory. It seeks to recover the initiatives of preservation of educational archives, and analyzes the participation of educators in the creation of an institutional network that had developed public policies in this area between the years 1940 to 1960. This article also evaluates expanding postgraduate courses in the 1970s, and State initiatives in this field since the end of the military government to present day, pointing out the impasses over the constitution of this field of knowledge.
