Este artículo aborda el análisis pedagógico de los entornos, espacios o aulas virtuales en la docencia presencial universitaria. Es continuación de otros trabajos previos de los autores que, desde hace casi una década, revisan el proceso de integración y generalización de las aulas virtuales en una universidad que oferta la mayoría de sus titulaciones en la modalidad de enseñanza presencial. En este estudio se han seleccionado 12 casos de aulas virtuales de distintos campos o ramas de conocimiento analizadas con un instrumento de observación diseñado ad hoc y se han realizado doce entrevistas grupales al alumnado matriculado en las mismas. De los datos obtenidos se infiere que estos entornos o aulas virtuales responden a un modelo pedagógico de enseñanza expositiva caracterizado por ser un repositorio de objetos digitales que empaquetan el conocimiento, por ser el espacio a través del que el alumnado entrega las tareas o trabajos que les demandan, y por existir un bajo nivel de interacción social entre los docentes y los estudiantes durante todo el proceso. Se concluye con recomendaciones para el desarrollo de políticas institucionales en universidades presenciales destinadas a la generalización entre su profesorado de modelos pedagógicos innovadores en estos entornos formativos digitales.
La competencia digital es clave para el desempeño profesional de todos los profesionales, por ello es importante desarrollar una formación que tenga en cuenta el desarrollo de estas habilidades. Concretamente en el ámbito educativo las tecnologías han tenido un gran impacto, modificando las prácticas docentes. Por ello es especialmente importante conocer la competencia digital de losestudiantes y ayudarles a desarrollarla, preparándolos para afrontar su futuro profesional. El estudio que se presenta es de tipo cuantitativo, con un diseño descriptivo que trata de conocer el uso que el alumnado realiza de los recursos TIC, su frecuencia y la autopercepción de este sobre sus competencias digitales básicas. Para ello se empleó un cuestionario basado en la propuesta de Roig &Pascual (2012). El planteamiento inicial hace pensar que el alumnado hace un uso frecuente de la tecnología, sin embargo, no tienen un alto grado de desarrollo de las competencias digitales básicas. Algunos de los resultados más destacables muestran que el teléfono móvil es uno de los dispositivos más utilizados por ellos, el 47,7 % del alumnado lo usa más de 7 horas diarias. Además, las principales actividades a las que dedican su tiempo están relacionadas con el trabajo en grupo, el 42% del alumnado trabaja de esta forma con mucha frecuencia.
En este artículo presentamos el diseño y resultados de un estudio realizado en la Universidad de La Laguna (ULL) destinado a identificar buenas prácticas de aulas virtuales en la docencia universitaria desarrolladas bajo la modalidad de blended learning o enseñanza semipresencial. El estudio se desarrolló en el primer trimestre del año 2008 y analizó una importante muestra de las aulas virtuales (N= 107) existentes en el Campus Virtual de dicha universidad en el periodo 2005-07. Se seleccionaron seis ejemplos de aulas virtuales, clasificados por campos científicos, caracterizadas por la incorporación de recursos de información, de comunicación y de aprendizaje experiencial.
