The agreement for the prenatal evaluation of the segmental neurological level was excellent, after a short training period, for observers with different degrees of expertise. The interpretation of this technique is reproducible enough and this supports its value for the prediction of postnatal motor function in myelomeningocele fetuses.
Objectives First, to investigate the correlation between prenatal presurgery anatomical and motor levels of the lesion with motor level at birth in cases undergoingprenatal repair of open spina bifida and, second, to identify factors leading to a loss of two or more motor levels between the presurgery and postnatal assessments.
Three cases of echogenic objects in the uterine cavity are reported. These objects had ultrasonographic characteristics of contraceptive intrauterine devices (IUDs) and, in the absence of patients' medical histories, would almost certainly have been wrongly identified as such. The authors demonstrate that noncontraceptive intrauterine objects can mimic IUDs.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
