The study was conducted in a manufacturing company. The publication discusses the methodology for designing the production process using decision tables. The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the use of decision tables in production design. Production, as the main link that adds value to manufacturing companies, is the most important process within the organization. The ability to make decisions, in terms of the production process, is related to the development of the enterprise or lack thereof. Help is needed in making decisions, which should have the best effect on the functioning of the whole company and generate the highest profits. Decisions at the production stage are crucial to the operations of the whole company.
The aim of the paper is to present an application of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA) in the shaping of occupational safety by raising workers' awareness concerning importance of maintaining high personal safety standards in a manufacturing company. Approach/Methodology/Design: Shaping work safety covers all activities that increase employee awareness concerning compliance with safety regulations and work practices with particular respect to the rules of conduct in specific situations. This article presents the use of the SCADA system in shaping of the workplace safety. It also underlines its influence on raising employee awareness of the importance of complying with health and safety regulations. Findings: It can be stated that the safety days screen meets the company's expectations. Moreover, it can be a valuable support in shaping workplace safety and raising employee awareness of safe work. The crucial thing is to carry out a detailed analysis and then choose such a solution that is adequate for the needs of a particular enterprise. Practical Implications: It is noted that the use of any solution that optimizes processes in the enterprise (including manufacturing processes) and the opportunities that IT tools provide, greatly contributes to the growth of safety. Providing safe working conditions by employers is usually closely linked to the organization's management strategy. Originality/Value: Currently we can observe the growing use of distributed control and visualization systems (SCADA systems) in the automation of industrial processes.
In the current era of urban development, people are already using electric vehicles more and more often for transport purposes, which reduces negative impacts on the environment. However, there are still vehicles in towns and cities that run on ordinary internal combustion engines. Performing optimization measures on the operation of these vehicles improves their performance, which can result in positive sustainable development effects. This article presents measures to reduce the wear and tear of urban vehicles and outlines a decision model to determine which of the vehicle parts described suffer the most frequent wear and tear under urban conditions. The article presents a list of structural elements that are most affected by urban traffic, as well as corrective actions to improve such specialized vehicles. Based on the decision analysis, Rule 1 was eliminated as having the least significant impact on vehicle wear and tear, and the least significant impact on urban safety. On the other hand, the most worn-out elements were found to be gearboxes, clutches, bus levelling electronics, and brake pads and discs. The decision-making model made it possible to identify the factors which have the greatest impact on reducing safety in urban spaces.
The planning of international freight transport is one of the most important tasks carried out in transport companies. The aim of this publication is to improve the process of planning international transport by creating a generalized model presented on an example in Europe and a decision-making model developed for it. In the field of research methods, the methods of observation of transport service providers and analysis of existing data were used.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
