Pea is a rich source of protein as well as income and employment in Jabalpur. Pea production is a highly good source of economic importance in Jabalpur. The study was conducted purposively from 2019 to 2020 in Shapura block of Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh (India) to find out the marketing behavior of pea farmers. A number of 120 pea farmers were selected in the Jabalpur district to bring to the fore the marketing behavior of pea farmers. The primary data were collected through a personal interview method with the help of a pre-tested interview schedule which was prepared based on the objectives of the investigation and variables. The statistical tests and procedures were used for analyzing the data with the help of statistical tools like mean, standard deviation, percentage, and Karl Pearson's coefficient of correlation. The result of the current study revealed that the majority of the respondents had a medium (53.33%) to a high level of marketing behavior.
This paper is concerned with analyzing the impact of the Farmer First Programme in generating the income and employment of the farmers through a crop-based module of the farmer first Programme in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh State, the Farmer First Programme (FFP) is a concept of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) where the farmer plays a centric role for research problem identification, prioritization, and conduct of experiments and its management at farmer’s conditions. Its focus is on Farmer's Farm, Innovations, Resources, Science, and Technology (FIRST). A sample of 129 farmers from the Lalbarra block of Balaghat district was purposively selected because it's having a maximum area under Farmer First Programme. A total of five modules are going on in the Lalbarra block. out of which only Crop Based Module was selected because it consists of a high number of Beneficiaries. The purpose of this research was to determine the impact of the Farmer FIRST programme on the farming community in terms of income and employment generation during 2020-21, for finding the research issue, Ex- post facto research design was used. We employed absolute changes for assessing the Impact of the Crop Based Module of the Farmer First Programme by gaining the additional income of individuals which were computed by ascertaining pre and post-income and employment generation of individuals through FFP. It may be concluded that there is a significant and positive difference found in income and employment generation among the farmers through Farmer First Programme.
In this digitalized world, e-resources have become the most functional tool for higher educational institutes. It is advantageous in improving search speed, provides more access points, the ability to access information that would otherwise be unavailable, and an increasing amount of information is electronic form. Whereas, the old library system consumes a lot of valuable time for the scholars. The present study was carried out in the College of Agriculture, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (RVSKVV), Gwalior (M.P.) to realize the utilization pattern of e-resources by the students the problems experienced and their suggestions while using e-resources. A total of 104 respondents were selected on the based on a proportionate random sampling method. The primary data was collected using a well-structured questionnaire that was circulated to the students through online mode using Google forms. An exploratory research design was used for the purpose of the study. A majority (n=89) of respondents (85.58%) had medium to high utilization of e-resources and maximum (n=92) of respondents (88.46%) reported a lack of proper training in using e-resources whereas, a high percentage (82.69%) of the respondents (n=86) suggested that the institution ensures the availability of training staffs to the students.
In tribal areas mode of livelihood is different among different population but all category of people is dependent on agriculture for their livelihood directly or indirectly, fully or partially,. There are some groups of people who could not reached at the stage of agriculture, they are still miles away from agriculture and pastoralism. The Baigas of Central India are recently forced to practice settled mode of agriculture. Before they were practicing shifting cultivation, they had various mode of livelihood. They still enjoy their traditional mode of livelihood, i.e. hunting and food gathering in the deep forest. They are also fond of fishing. Many tribal youths are faced with difficulty of maintaining livelihoods and consequently, poverty remains exist among them. The importance of income generating activities to tribal livelihood cannot be over-emphasized. This paper examines the factors influencing involvement of tribal youth in agricultural income generating livelihood activities in Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Purposive multistage random sampling was used to collect data from 250 respondents, majority of respondents had medium mass media exposure with medium urban contact for income generating activities. There was significant relationship between involvement in agricultural income generating activities and socio-personal-economic, psychological and communicational attributes of the respondents. Therefore, it is recommended that when developing and planning programmes aimed at enhancing tribal youths' livelihoods, the government and NGOs should take into account all agricultural income-generating activities that tribal youths engage in as well as the aforementioned factors influencing their involvement.
