AbstrakProgram Ipteks bagi Masyarakat (IbM) ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih banyaknya guru PAUD yang bukan lulusan dari PG PAUD, dan masih kurangnya pemahaman serta keterampilan guru PAUD dalam merancang Alat Peraga Edukatif (APE). Disamping itu, motivasi para guru untuk membuat APE sendiri juga masih rendah. Tujuan diadakannya kegiatan pelatihan ini diantaranya adalah membentuk kelompok kerja guru (KKG) yang memiliki pengetahuan dalam membuat APE yang kreatif dan inovatif. Pembuatan APE pada program ini memiliki konsep aman bagi anak, ramah lingkungan, bersumber dari bahan yang mudah diperoleh dari lingkungan sekitar, biaya pembuatan rendah, serta yang terpenting melaksanakan prinsip 4R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle dan Replace) dalam kehidupan sehari-hari khususnya dalam proses belajar mengajar di sekolah. IbM ini dilaksanakan di PAUD di Kecamatan Cinambo dan Kecamatan Arcamanik Kota Bandung. IbM ini berlangsung selama 8 bulan dari Maret sampai Oktober 2016. Dari kegiatan ini, seluruh peserta memperoleh pengetahuan dan keterampilan pembuatan APE dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas dan profesinalisme sebagai guru. Selain itu, program pelatihan ini dapat membuka peluang untuk mengembangkan jiwa kewirausahaan untuk memproduksi APE aman bagi anak dan ramah lingkungan yang memiliki nilai jual. AbstractThis Arts, Technology, and Science Program for Society is motivated by the number of ECE teachers who are not graduated from the specialized major, and still lack of understanding and skills in designing educational props. In addition, teachers' motivation to create the propsis also low. The purpose of this training is to form a working group of teachers who have knowledge in making creative and innovative props. Making props on this program has a hospitable concept for children, an environmentally friendly, and sourced from materials that are easily obtained from the environment. It has also low manufacturing costs, and implements the principles of 4R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Replace) in everyday life, especially in teaching and learning process in school. The programwas implemented in ECE ofCinambo and ArcamanikDisctrict, Bandung. The program lasted for 8 months from March to October 2016. From this activity, all participants gain knowledge and skills in props-making to improve their quality and profesionalism as a teacher. In addition, this training program can open opportunities to develop entrepreneurial spirit to produce safe and environmentally friendly props for children with selling points.
By the characteristics of mathematics, which has the object of study is abstract, then the abstraction becomes an important part that can not be separated from mathematics. The development of abstraction theories, either directly or not, will be closely related to the process of learning mathematics in the classroom. Also, the rapid development of virtual manipulatives media in the world of mathematics education can bring a good influence on the learning process that takes place in the classroom. In this regard, this paper aims to examine theories of abstraction in mathematics and its possible implementation in mathematics education which is integrated with virtual manipulatives media to provide a choice to overcome various problems of learning mathematics. In the world of mathematics education, some abstract concepts in mathematics will be more easily learned through empirical abstraction processes such as introducing the concept of positive integers in students. However, when abstract concepts are not allowed to be empirically introduced to the students, the role of virtual manipulatives media can be one of the alternatives to choose from. Also, virtual media manipulatives can be utilized to facilitate the process of reflective abstraction and theoretical abstraction
A this paper discusses the innovation strategy to develop 21st century skills for students through STEM project-based learning models. That is project-based learning by integrating STEM fields, where the teacher through the topics discussed connects science and technology through engineering techniques. In the context of mathematics learning, STEM project-based learning is very potential to provide meaningful learning, can train students' abilities to problem-solving through an integrated project with one or several other scientific fields, in addition to providing students with an experience that mathematics is real benefits for life, and around them.
