The COMPETISOFT project in Peru represented an effort developed over three phases by students, professionals, teachers from universities and companies. They worked around to adopt a software process model called MoProSoft in small software development companies. Project implementation has generated different kind of results at the level of businesses, professionals and academics. This article shows the relevant aspects of the project, the work scheme followed, results and lessons learned from the academic perspective of a universitycompany relationship. INTRODUCCIÓNLa universidad es una organización orientada, entre otras cosas, a la generación de conocimiento como es reconocido en todo el mundo. Desde esta perspectiva se puede apreciar que ha evolucionado desarrollando un conjunto de prácticas (formas de trabajo) adecuadas a la dinámica de la propia universidad. De otro lado la empresa es una organización principalmente orientada a la generación de dinero a través de la oferta de productos o servicios que tienen un mercado e igualmente han evolucionado desarrollando un conjunto de prácticas coherentes con su dinámica empresarial.Sin embargo, para muchas universidades y empresas las dinámicas de sus actividades aparentan ser disímiles, hecho que se puede apreciar con cierta facilidad en ciertas frases que se escuchan en la industria, como por ejemplo "lo necesito para hoy", frente a los tiempos que pueden tomar determinadas investigaciones. Estas diferencias en las dinámicas de las organizaciones contribuyen a que la relación universidadempresa sea más complicada.En contraste, la relación universidad-empresa tiene como principal ventaja que ambas partes pueden ser mutuamente beneficiadas si las actividades que se enmarcan en este contexto son planteadas de manera adecuada y teniendo en cuenta las características propias de cada actor participante. A nivel internacional, se vienen desarrollando distintos esfuerzos para estudiar y favorecer la relación Universidad -EmpresaEn particular, para la industria de software de nuestra región (y nuestro país), predominantemente constituido por pequeñas empresas que desarrollan software, se propuso el desarrollo de modelos de procesos que contribuyan a incrementar su competitividad. El esfuerzo desarrollado ha permitido validar el modelo a través de pruebas controladas en empresas, pero además ha permitido establecer una relación especial entre las universidades y las empresas que han participado de estas iniciativas de mejora de procesos.En este artículo se presentan algunos aspectos relevantes del Proyecto COMPETISOFT-Componente-Perú, con especial énfasis en las lecciones aprendidas desde el punto de vista académico. Resumen El incremento de la capacidad aerobia en prepúberes beneficia a la salud y favorece la iniciación deportiva. Sin embargo, existe controversia sobre sí tales mejoras y en qué medida pueden ser inducidas por un entrenamiento físico en prepúberes. El objetivo fue realizar una revisión sistemática para identificar los cambios en la capacidad aerobia por efecto del entrenamiento en prepúberes. Se revisaron seis bases de datos electrónicas, acorde al cumplimiento de la declaración PRISMA. Solo 11 artículos cumplieron con los criterios establecidos para su inclusión. Se encontró mejoría de la capacidad aerobia en el 73 % de los estudios; y solo en tres estudios no se observaron cambios debido a detalles metodológicos. Sin embargo, es necesario unificar los programas de entrenamiento, así como el diseño de los estudios para establecer con contundencia el entrenamiento de la capacidad aerobia en prepúberes. Abstract Increase of aerobic capacity in children and adolescents is associated with greater health benefits and promotes the sport initiation. However, it has not been determined whether these changes could be attributed to the physical training or are really induced by the natural maturation process in prepubertal children. The aim of this study was to do a systematic review to identify the changes in aerobic capacity by a physical training program in prepubescents. A systematic review in six electronic databases was performed, according to the accomplishment of the PRISMA declaration. Only 11 articles were selected. Increases in aerobic capacity were found in 73 % of the included articles in the present review; and only in three studies changes were not seen due methodological issues. However, it is necessary to unify training protocols, as well as studies design to establish the aerobic capacity training in prepubescents. Resumo A melhora da capacidade aeróbica em pré-púbere beneficia a saúde e favorece a iniciação esportiva. No entanto, existe controversia sobre essa possível melhoria e em que medida podem ser induzidas pelo treinamento físico em pré-púberes. O objetivo foi realizar uma revisão sistemática para identificar as mudanças na capacidade aeróbica por conta do efeito do treinamento físico em pré-púberes. Foram revisadas seis bases de dados eletrônicas, de acordo com o cumprimento da declaração PRISMA. Somente 11 artigos preencheram os critérios estabelecidos de inclusão. A melhora da capacidade aeróbica foi encontrada em 73% dos estudos; e somente em três estudos não foram observadas alterações devido aos detalhes metodológicos. No entanto, é necessário unificar os programas de treinamento, bem como o desenho dos estudos para estabelecer o treinamento da capacidade aeróbica em pré-púberes.
Many Function Point (FP) technique adaptations have been proposed to estimate object-oriented software development projects. However, most research works propose rules to identify FP according previous versions of the FP Counting Practices Manual or they do not include some important UML specifications such as the composition relationship between classes. . In this paper, we present the rules to identify logic files using analysis class diagrams that are included in the UML 2 FP technique that we have defined, and a software tool named Tupux that support UML 2 FP application. These rules were defined in accordance with the recommendations included in the FP Counting Practices Manual 4.3.1. We also present the results obtained by applying our rules to software size estimation in a case study performed with undergraduate and graduate students. These results have proved that a person can make mistakes when applying the technique which could be avoided by using a software tool. One hundred and twenty laying hens were used in a six-week trial to evaluate the influence of partial replacement of feed with pecan shelling by-product (PNP) on performance and egg yolk color. Treatments consisted of feed for laying hens containing 0%, 2.5%, 5.0%, or 7.5% of PNP (as fed basis). Partial replacement of feed with increasing levels of PNP did not affect (P>0.10) performance or egg yolk color. It is concluded that partial replacement of feed with PNP could marginally reduce feed cost and improve local feedstock utilization without affecting animal performance and egg quality.
Objectives The aim of the present study was to analyze the moderating effect of maturation on the relationship between body fat and insulin resistance, in children from 9 to 12 years. Methods Maturity offset, homeostasis model assessment index of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), and body fat percentage (BF%) were estimated in 127 children. Skeletal maturation indicator (SMI) was estimated in 105 participants. A moderation analysis based on a linear regression and on Johnson-Neyman technique was performed using a 95% confidence level. Results BF%, insulin levels, and HOMA-IR values were lower in late maturers than on-time maturers (p<0.05). SMI moderated the relationship between BF% and HOMA-IR index in 11.1% of boys and in 32.5% of girls (p<0.05). Also, the highest values of HOMA-IR index were observed at −1 year to achieve the peak height velocity, in girls (p<0.05). Conclusions Maturation process has a moderation effect on the relationship BF% and insulin resistance, particularly in early maturers; furthermore, it was independently associated with HOMA-IR.
