Saúde e educação são as principais áreas que devem ser alvo de políticas públicas de um país, pois elas podem produzir um mínimo de igualdade em uma nação. Prover saúde de qualidade é garantir e respeitar a dignidade de cada cidadão. A área de gestão e cuidados de saúde foi marcada por muitos avanços no decorrer da história, mas muitos desafios ainda precisam ser transpostos. É nesse contexto que esta obra intitulada ‘Gestão de Saúde: abrangência e desafios’ se apresenta desenvolvendo temas atuais e inovadores em três vertentes: a Gestão de Saúde e Políticas Públicas, a Sistematização dos Processos Produtivos e Saúde do Trabalhador, e a Epidemiologia das doenças, seus agravamentos e determinantes. Trata-se de uma coletânea de artigos resultantes das pesquisas desenvolvidas por estudantes do programa de mestrado em Healthcare Management da MUST University, que foram selecionados por se destacarem por sua qualidade. A primeira parte da obra conta com seis artigos nos quais os autores abordam assuntos com os objetivos de nortear as ações e serviços de saúde em todas as esferas dos governos, na segunda parte, com dois artigos que tratam de verificar e propor políticas públicas voltadas para a saúde do trabalhador que o amparem na prevenção de acidentes, nas doenças, nas melhores condições de trabalho e nos fatores psicossociais e riscos tecnológicos e, na terceira parte, com dois artigos, os autores abordam temas que investigam a ocorrência, os agravamentos, e possíveis determinantes das doenças, em populações específicas. A saúde é a base para a manutenção de todos os aspectos da vida, sem ela nós não conseguimos realizar nada em qualquer outro aspecto de nossa vida, fica claro, então, a relevância desta obra ao discutir assuntos relacionados a sua gestão.
The present work is the result of a literature review and analysis about the praxis of the Organizational and Work Psychologist in the hospital administrative context. The study aimed to unveil the main challenges and possibilities of action in this practice. Based on the material collected and analyzed, the relevance in contributions that Organizational and Work Psychology can bring to hospital management was evidenced, casting its specialized look at the pertinent questions of the health organization as a whole, resolving and mediating conflicts, enabling well-being and pleasure for employees, as well as contributing to the institution'sgeneral management and administration. However, it also became evident that there are still some challenges in the performance of these professionals in hospital institutions, these impasses ranging from their insertion, to the definition of their functions in these environments.
