OBJETIVO: Aplicar cinco modelos de inventarios, para obtener la cantidad de pedido y el punto de reorden, en el caso de un producto con demanda y tiempo de entrega discretos, aleatorios, independientes y conocidos, considerando descuentos en el precio de compra por adquirir mayores volúmenes y el costo de pedido semivariable.
MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: Los modelos utilizados han sido el de la cantidad económica de pedido (CEP), aplicado para una demanda y tiempo de entrega aleatorios, el de un nivel de servicio meta (NS), el de distribución normal de la demanda (DN), el algoritmo de Eppen y Martin (EM) y el modelo de Lee y Rim (LR).
RESULTADOS: Las diferencias en los resultados se han dado en el valor del punto de reorden con los modelos NS y LR, que han dado un valor más alto, lo que lleva a un mayor costo del inventario.
CONCLUSIONES: Todos los modelos coinciden en la cantidad de pedido, lo cual se debe al descuento en el precio unitario que se logra al colocar un pedido mayor; tres de los cinco modelos coinciden en el punto de reorden y al parecer es la decisión correcta en este caso práctico.
