The aspects of quality and safety of life activities in the educational policy of educational institutions in Ukraine are considered in the article. The authors have paid considerable attention to the employment of the population as a fundamental factor in the aspects of the full promotion of quality and safety of life activities in the educational policy of Ukrainian educational institutions. It has been noted that in the most stable countries in this matter, the quality of education is much higher than in countries experiencing some turmoil in this regard. And the situation is particularly disastrous in countries where the employment of the population cannot be high due to economic and political problems. In the transition from one political structure to another, as in the case of Ukraine - from a totalitarian society to a democratic one - radical shifts begin both in employment and in the educational policy of the state. The growth of the population has a direct impact on the quality of education and on aspects of life safety in general. However, without a developed traditional system of education, which fully or even partially satisfied the vast majority of people with wealth, this process becomes somewhat negative.
The last turn of the millennium proved to be more than just temporary censorship for education. A generation of young people who have grown up in the digital age – the age of ubiquitous electronics, the internet, and globalization – has gone to school. In just two decades, our world has changed to such an extent that today's so-called generational differences are no longer limited to different world views and prevailing social relations – today it is often the case that members of the same family, representing different generations, function in very different realities. The generation of the globalization age has been trained to value completely different values: openness and tolerance, which are shaped by the Internet and open international borders; flexibility and mobility – in work and education; finally, a better understanding of working with technology, above all electronic, information and communication technology, because without this competence it is impossible to imagine functioning in the modern world. The following scientific methods were used to write the study: comparison, analysis, and synthesis ascending from the abstract to the concrete.

Innovation - an important aspect of the functioning of the modern education system. The article analyzes innovative trends in higher education in Ukraine over the past 10 years. The analysis and generalization of materials on the subject revealed five educational trends: convergence of academic training in professional practice, application of competence approach in assessing learning outcomes, growth of students' independent work, increase of creative component in learning, readiness to function in conditions of uncertainty. Each trend is analyzed according to the scheme: necessity of innovations, content of trends, specific variants of trend implementation. In recent years, higher education institutions have been increasingly stimulating both students and teachers to innovate.
