RESUMO Este estudo teórico, de natureza exploratória e descritiva, objetiva de forma geral: analisar a contribuição da diversificação de gêneros textuais no processo de aquisição da leitura através de uma visão psicopedagógica. Para tanto, a pesquisa norteou-se a partir de estudos de Bezerra (2005), Freire (2005), Luaiza (2004), Marcushi (2005), entre outros. Observou-se por sua vez que o espaço escola é o local por excelência de aprendizado da leitura e escrita, e que a prática da leitura em sala de aula, através de gêneros textuais tem contribuído para motivar os alunos a praticarem a mesma, sendo assim, os professores podem utilizar bilhete, reportagem jornalística, história em quadrinhos, receita culinária, relatos pessoais e outros, despertando no aluno o gosto pela leitura. Neste contexto, encaixa-se a psicopedagogia cuja ocupação é a aprendizagem humana e suas dificuldades, realizando um trabalho de ajuda junto aos professores, pais e alunos para saná-las ou diminuí-las. O psicopedagogo pode ajudar professores e alunos, incentivando e orientando aulas dinâmicas e interativas, com técnicas atuais, que aproximem os educandos dos textos lidos incitando-os à criatividade, com destaque para a importância da diversidade de gêneros textuais na formação competente do indivíduo leitor.
