This paper proposes a novel integrated converter topology for interfacing between the energy storage system and the DC bus for a residential microgrid application. The proposed integrated full-bridge-forward DC-DC converter presents the following features: low number of active devices compared to the converters usually applied to similar applications, low input and output current ripple, high voltage ratio, bidirectional power flow, and galvanic isolation. A double-ended forward converter with particularities such as no extra transformer demagnetizing circuit is originated from the integration process. This converter is approached in detail in this paper, including three different clamping circuits which are analyzed and compared. The structure, principle of operation, analysis, transformer design methodology, comparison with the dual active bridge converter, and experimental results of the proposed topology are presented.Index Terms-DC bus interconnection, DC-DC converter, energy storage system, static power converter integration.

High step-up converters are required and used in photovoltaic applications, due to low voltage of photovoltaic modules. In this paper, an isolated dc-dc high step-up SEPIC with a Greinacher voltage doubler cell is presented. It has the advantage of continuous input current, high efficiency, high voltage gain, isolation and demands a single switch, being suitable for low power grid-tie photovoltaic systems. The operating principles and steady-state analysis are presented, including the detailed analysis of resonant stage, where the value of primary side capacitor is taken into account and plays an important role in the design of the converter, since it directly affects the resonance frequency and RMS current values. Simulation results are presented to validate the analysis and design.

Abstract.A sustainable residential microgrid composed of two distributed generation sources (photovoltaic panels and biofuel generator), one energy storage device (battery bank), and able of supplying both AC and DC loads, including a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, is proposed. The microgrid can operate in grid-connected mode and island mode. It is composed of a main DC bus and also an AC bus. The characteristics of the system, the operation modes description and some results are presented in this paper.
