The last four decades were important for the Brazilian highway system. Financial investments were made so it could expand and many structural solutions for bridges and viaducts were developed. In parallel, there was a significant raise of pathologies in these structures, due to lack of maintenance procedures. Thus, this paper main purpose is to create a short-term monitoring plan in order to check the structural behavior of a curved highway concrete bridge in current use. A bridge was chosen as a case study. A hierarchy of six numerical models is shown, so it can validate the bridge's structural behaviour. The acquired data from the monitoring was compared with the finest models so a calibration could be made.

O objetivo principal do trabalho é apresentar uma comparação entre distintas estratégias de simulação computacional de estruturas de concreto armado utilizando modelos de fissuração distribuída. Em uma primeira abordagem, foi adotado o modelo multidirecional de fissuração distribuída do programa DIANA empregando-se diferentes regras de amolecimento para o material fissurado (frágil, linear e não-lineares de Moelands-Reinhardt e de Hordijk). Posteriormente, foi utilizada a formulação DSFM - Disturbed Stress Field Model, modelando o concreto fissurado como um material ortotrópico com fissuras distribuídas do tipo rotacionais. Os programas DIANA e VecTor2 foram utilizados como ferramentas para avaliar a eficácia dos diferentes modelos no estudo de vigas de concreto armado submetidas a esforços de flexão.

ABSTRACT. The modulus of elasticity of concrete is an important property because it is crucial for the control of deformation. The impossibility of obtaining concrete with higher elasticity modulus rates may cause economic liabilities due to the need for larger structural elements. Current paper evaluates three compressive strength classes (20, 30 and 40MPa) of concrete produced with two types of coarse aggregate, basalt and dolomite rock from the Triângulo Mineiro region, Brazil. Further, 459 cylindrical test specimens were cast for the experimental study. The experimental results of the elasticity modulus rates were compared and with formulations prescribed by four standards: ABNT NBR 6118, ACI 318, Eurocode 2 and FIB Model Code. Comparisons demonstrated that the effect of coarse aggregate on the elasticity modulus was negligible when compared to the concrete's resistance class.Keywords: deformation, properties, standards, experimental results.Influência do agregado graúdo no módulo de elasticidade do concreto RESUMO. O módulo de elasticidade do concreto é uma propriedade importante para os profissionais envolvidos na indústria da construção civil, uma vez que seu valor é determinante para o controle das deformações. A impossibilidade de se obter concretos de maior valor de módulo de elasticidade pode resultar em perda econômica pela necessidade de elementos estruturais de maior dimensão. Este trabalho avaliou o módulo de elasticidade de três classes distintas de concreto (C20, C30 e C40) produzidas com dois tipos morfológicos de rochas, basalto e dolomito, da região do Triângulo Mineiro. Como parte do estudo experimental, foram moldadas 459 amostras cilíndricas. Os valores de módulo de elasticidade obtidos foram comparados entre si e com formulações propostas em quatro normas: ABNT NBR 6118, ACI 318, Eurocode 2e FIB Model Code. The increase in the use of flat slabs and the need of the openings for the passage of installations, such as hydraulic and electrical, which significantly reduces the punching shear resistance capacity of the slab, makes the understanding of the influence of openings in this type of structure extremely necessary. The influence in the structural behaviour of flat slabs with openings at different distances from the column was investigated through five square slabs (1,800 mm x 1,800 mm x 130 mm) supported on square columns (150 mm x 150 mm) tested until failure. The results obtained experimentally were compared with results available in the literature, as well as with responses predicted from the normative instructions. The results confirm high stresses concentration in the region between the column and the opening and that opening situated at 3d from the column have no influence on the failure load for the tested slabs.
