O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a participação das mulheres nos cargos de comissão técnica e de arbitragem no Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol Feminino desde a primeira edição da competição, em 2013, até o ano de 2019. Analisamos a quantidade de mulheres atuantes como treinadoras, auxiliares técnicas, preparadoras físicas, massagistas, treinadoras de goleiras, fisioterapeutas e médicas. Também coletamos informações sobre o quarteto de arbitragem. Verificamos um predomínio (~86%) de homens em cargos de comissão técnica com um lento aumento da participação de mulheres. As mulheres parecem ter maior inserção nos cargos de comissão de arbitragem. Encontramos 39% de mulheres atuando como árbitras principais e 59% como árbitras assistentes. Verificamos que a participação de mulheres nos cargos de comissão técnica e de arbitragem no Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol Feminino aumentou vagarosamente nos últimos anos, mas que a situação permanece de desigualdade.
This study aimed to compare the quality of life perception among Boccia, Para-Athletics, and Wheelchair Tennis athletes. Methods: Eighty-six athletes with physical disabilities participated (Boccia = 41; Para Athletics = 14; Wheelchair Tennis = 31) in the study. The data were collected by applying the Brazilian Portuguese version of the WHOQOL-Bref questionnaire and a short survey for demographics. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the relationship among the variables considering a confidence level of 95%. Results: Wheelchair Tennis athletes were older and Para-Athletics athletes were involved in this sport for a longer period. The majority of participants perceived positively their overall quality of life and health. Wheelchair Tennis athletes presented higher total quality of life perception scores in comparison to Boccia athletes. Regarding the specific domains of quality of life, Para-Athletics athletes presented higher scores in the psychological domain in comparison to Boccia and Wheelchair Tennis. Wheelchair Tennis presented higher social scores in comparison to Boccia and higher environment scores in comparison to Boccia and Para-Athletics. No differences were found in the physical domain in all groups. Conclusion: The evidence points to the influence of athletes' demographics, the specific nuances of their impairments, and the Paralympic Sports practiced in perceiving the quality of life. Suggestions are made to further explore the factors that may influence the quality of life perception among Paralympic Sports athletes.
Sport coaching in Brazil is a regulated profession that requires higher education qualifications. A degree in physical education (PE) is mandatory since 1998 for those who aspire to work as coaches in the country, which has led universities and professors to play a key role in developing coaches through formal education. Through a personal narrative approach, we—a professor and a PhD candidate—wrote this paper with the purpose of sharing our pathways and reflections in implementing a learner-centred teaching (LCT) approach in an undergraduate coaching course in Brazil, both acting as coach developers (CDs). From a personal and professional growth perspective, as CDs, we acknowledge the relevance of offering such practical experiences along with reflection and peer sharing as crucial steps for practitioners to improve CD expertise in the higher education setting. By reflecting on the potential of a LCT approach in higher education, we demonstrate how LCT strategies can enhance opportunities for student-coaches to gain exposure to meaningful practical coaching situations as a way to better develop their coaching skills within the university environment.
A competição na iniciação ao futebol configura um ambiente de aprendizagem, mas necessita ser organizada de forma adequada às características e possibilidades das crianças. O objetivo do ensaio teórico é apresentar possibilidades para a competição na iniciação ao futebol com base na estrutura, normas e funcionalidade do jogo e refletir acerca da participação no ambiente competitivo. A organização dos elementos estruturais e funcionais do jogo de futebol na etapa de iniciação precisa ser realizada a partir da compreensão do nível dos jogadores, na relação com a estruturação do espaço, comunicação na ação e relação com a bola. As relações estabelecidas entre jogadores, treinadores, árbitros e a família deve propiciar interações positivas, estabelecendo um ambiente seguro para as crianças. Assim, a competição na etapa de iniciação ao futebol deve ser pensada e arquitetada para potencializar o desenvolvimento das crianças, criando um ambiente de aprendizagem seguro.
The type of sport practiced may shape the athletic career, considered as the period in which an athlete is dedicated to obtaining their maximum performance in one or more sports. The aim of this study was to compare athletic careers and retirement in individual and team sports. Four hundred and ten former elite athletes (38.5 ± 7.6 years) answered an ad hoc questionnaire; 61.5% were men and 38.5% women; 45.1% were from individual sports, while 54.9% were from team sports. It emerged that the age of maximum sports performance and the retirement age occurred significantly later in team sports than in individual sports (U = 15,042 and U = 12,624.5, respectively p < 0.001). Team sports athletes combined their athletic career with work to a greater extent than those from individual sports (χ2 (3, N = 408) = 14.2; p = 0.003; Cv = 0.187). Individual sports athletes trained more hours per week (30.0 ± 11.7 h) than those involved in team sports (19.2 ± 10.7 h; U = 9682; p < 0.001). These athletes (team sports) were in a better economic and working situation at retirement transition (χ2 (3, N = 406) = 23.9; p < 0.001; Cv = 0.242). Individual sports athletes perform physical activity more frequently than team sports athletes (U = 16,267.5; p = 0.045), while team sports athletes participate more actively in veteran competitions (χ2 (1, N = 390) = 3.9; p = 0.047; Cv = 0.104) and more frequently attend events as spectators (χ2 (1, N = 390) = 8.4; p = 0.004; Cv = 0.151). dual career support providers should be aware that team sports athletes enjoy a longer athletic career, and they are in a better position to face the retirement transition than individual sports athletes.

La calidad de la relación entrenador-atleta es reconocida como una experiencia positiva por jóvenes deportistas, que puede ser decisiva para la manutención en la práctica. El objetivo de esta investigación fue verificar si la calidad de la relación entrenador-atleta está relacionada con la percepción de la experiencia positiva de los jóvenes en el deporte. El estudio se realizó con 630 atletas (350 mas.; 280 fem.), en los deportes de equipo: balonmano (26%), voleibol (25%), fútbol sala (31%) y baloncesto (18%), todos participando en competencia de nivel estatal, clasificatoria para la etapa nacional. La edad de los atletas es de 16.06 ± 0.82 años y el tiempo medio de práctica en su deporte fue de 4.48 ± 2.54 años. El conjunto de datos se recopiló utilizando los cuestionarios de Relación Entrenador-Atleta (CART-Q Athlete) y Experiencia Juvenil en el Deporte (YES-Y), validados para el idioma portugués. Aunque la literatura reconoce la importancia de la relación entrenador-atleta, los resultados encontrados en el presente estudio sugieren que la calidad de la relación entrenador-atleta no influye en la experiencia positiva de los jóvenes en el deporte, en el contexto escolar extracurricular. The quality of the coach-athlete relationship is recognized as a positive experience by young people in sports, which can be decisive for a long-term sports practice. Our aim was to verify if the quality of the relationship coach-athlete is related to the perception of sport as a positive experience by young athletes. The participants are 630 young athletes (350 male; 280 female) in four different team sports: handball (26%), volleyball (25%), futsal (31%) and basketball (18%), participating in state competitions, which are qualifying for the national championship. The athletes' age was 16.06 ± 0.82 years with an average time of practice of 4.48 ± 2.54 years. The data was collected using the Coach-Athlete Relationship (CART-Q Athlete) and the Youth Experience in Sport (YES-Y) questionnaires, both validated for the Portuguese language. Although the literature recognizes the coach-athlete relationship as positive, the results found in this study suggest that the quality of the coach-athlete relationship, by itself, does not influences the perception of sports as a positive experience by young people in sports, in the extracurricular school context. A qualidade da construção do ambiente positivo para a prática esportiva estabelecida na relação treinador-atleta é reconhecida para uma experiência positiva dos jovens no esporte, podendo ser determinante para uma prática esportiva prolongada. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi verificar se a qualidade da relação treinador-atleta se relaciona com a percepção de experiência positiva dos jovens no esporte. Participam do estudo 630 atletas (350 masc.; 280 fem.), nas modalidades coletivas de handebol (26%), voleibol (25%), futsal (31%) e basquetebol (18%), em competição de nível estadual, classificatória para etapa nacional. A idade dos atletas é de 16.06±0.82 anos e o tempo médio de prática das respectivas modalidades foi de 4.48±2.54 anos. O conjunto de dados foi coletado por meio dos questionários Relacionamento Treinador-Atleta (CART-Q Atleta) e Experiência dos Jovens no Esporte (YES-Y), validados para a língua portuguesa. Apesar da literatura reconhecer a importância da relação treinador-atleta, os resultados encontrados no presente estudo sugerem que a qualidade da relação treinador-atleta não influência a experiência positiva dos jovens no esporte, no contexto escolar extracurricular.
